Do you know by smell?

Can you tell something about a person by the fragrance they choose?
At the Winter Solstice I fill the house with the fragrance of; pine, cedar and holly. Does that make me a complex person?
I ask because a month ago I purchased a fragrance for the car. I know, I new what I was doing at the time, but it is 'vanilla'. Is this the start of some sexual perversion? Is there anything I can do to stop it? Is there a cure?
I have just realized, I have been vanilla for 3 or 4 months now, true!

I have a dreadful sense of smell so it is unlikely I could discern anything unless the scent was so overpowering that it could knock out an elephant redface

This has an advantage at work where I can be safely sent to deal with urine soaked old biddies without fear of me gagging or passing out. biggrin

I don't like very strong smells, they just make me feel sick. That applies to all smells confused

I'm not a great fan of perfumes or aftershaves, possibly cause I'm allergic to them. I don't wear them (and Laird isn't allowed to when he's near me lol

) so my sense of smell when I do smell them is very sensitive and its all a bit overpowering :? I like subtle smells best biggrin

Ooo LadyFee i is also allergic to aftershave parfum etc but i have found some that i'm not allergic too

These arnt sold in shop they are special and develope for people with sensitive skin etc :D

I do like fragrances but not too strong. I often find that people who wear a stronger one are more confident as most people would perhaps dab alittle on in the hope that they arent going to offend anybody with it.
There are 3 fragrances that make me gag though......Oscar de la Renta,Poison and Samsara.

Agree with you on those fragrances Hungry....... make me feel awful when someone walks past me wearing them. Im not a lover of vanilla either........ sorry T-man!
Subtle and smooth with a hint of errrrr the erotic........mmmmmmmmm nice!

It`s like my head is in an achey fog and I cant stand it, I have to get away.
Not a big vanilla lover but would put up with it if it was around me.

I hope that you can't...
I don't wear perfume on my body as I am allergic to alcohol... I am sure that it is psychosomatic. If I want to wear some... (once in the last 8 months.) then I have to spray it onto clothes...
anyhoo, as a result I don't actually like smelling perfume on anyone. And if asked by a person that I am meeting (sexually) if I have any preference about clothes etc... I always ask that they don't wear perfume/aftershave. I prefer to smell the (clean) person.

i like light clean smells in aftershave or perfume but only worn lightly, i hate to be able to taste it walking past someone
as for smells, i dont actually mind vanilla, i burn sandlewood, patchouli and other incense, i like fragranced candles, i love the smell of plants herbs and flowers, the natural smells of the world like pine, xmas trees smell divine.

Pines are 'divine' they house the sprites in the cold winter months.

mmmmm especially Mr Jay when he's just got out the shower and has the clean skin smell, mixed with dampness of the shower and a little soap.. grrrrrr.. I must stop! I think I must be in heat! smackbottom
