I think accounts that have not been used for X months (6/12) should not be included in the "members" statistic - as it stands, it would appear the 1.5% of the UK population are members of SH! lol (I suppose stranger things could happen)

there were three million originally Six. Then there was the great "Commercialisation Controversy" so that left two million. The other million were killed when Frecklebird baked a cake once for one of the mass munches.

i know peopletake a breck from internet/swinging etc but im sorry i thinkleaving the door forever open is daft. if this is purely about pre takeover members keeping the free membership then i kinda feel that it was given to those who were making an active contribution as they made the site worth buying and people joining ? so if someone just happened to join 316 weeks ago cuse it was free, couldnt get the quick free shag left after a week never to return, cant even remember they ever came here then why should they come back and for free?
those who did pay and left? well whats the issue they will have to re pay so why not just re join.? the user name might be gone? well membership doesnt issue patents to user names, tough they left get a new name.
if the time a member has been a member is a signal to some as they must be ok and genuine swingers , but in truth they came here after a row with teh partner had another row, etc and have poped back then it gives a misguided impression.
sorry alot of ramballings and i know we can serch in date preference etc etc but ffs why keep sh towers clogged up?
to make membership numbers look good? personally id be more inclined if i joined now to stay if once here i saw a honest reprensentation of the ture members ship numbers than some fabricated total to lure me in.
i think 52 weeks is far from long enough. in fact to long. if when you joined you were informed accounts left inactive for longer than 20 weeks and it gets put into hibernation and must be reactivated within 20 weeks from that date or deactivated and closed then fair enough.

The commercial owners must be in a bit of a quandry as to what to do really.
1) Clearing out the dead wood will mean that any of the 'old' members who joined when it was free would have to re-join as paid members if they came back which is good for the coffers.
BUT
2) Clearing out that much dead wood would have the effect of reducing the perceived commercial value of the Site at a stroke by reducing the membership numbers by about 80% if not more (just a guess).
To be fair - if it was me, I think I would probably maintain the status quo as I doubt that there would be that many who left a free site who would then pay to come back and there will always be a steady stream of new comers.
It is no big deal for anyone anyway is it? If you place ads - only active Members will answer and if you look at ads, just look on the profile as to when they were last on line. That way the Site stays current for your purposes.
