Do you think it is time that SH was cleaned up?

There seems to be loads of profile on swinging heaven that now of people that haven't visited for ages (for people over 4/5 years, not a year or month). Do you agree it is time that these profile should be removed. The reason for this suggestion is when people search then you wouldn't get a profile of some that isn't visiting or using SH and would free up server space.
Sorry edit knocked off poll.
Just because they haven't visited for ages doesn't mean they never will again....
If there profile was deleted then they would have to rejoin and pay....Not fair really....
Some people browse the forums without logging in and keep their membership to go to munches in their area also...

Give the last login.... so someone not logged in for 2000+ days then how can they go to munchies without logging in and finding out where the munchy is?
As far as paying I though the subscription runs out after 12month and so do extras.
This is taken from the sh...section on munch
What's a Munch?
You'll find organised Swingers Munches 'stickied' at the top of the Let's Meet Up forum. Usually they are centrally organised by one or two people who are more than likely well known members of Swinging Heaven. The exact location is kept strictly secret between the organisers and those who have been invited; strictly secret before and after the event. Organisers will usually only give out the exact location information to those who are invited just a few days before the event.
How much detail do I publish in the forum?
The date, approximate location (e.g. Manchester) and maximum allowed to attend, if necessary. The exact details of the pub/club etc, should only be sent out by PM about a week before and ONLY to those invited. You must also stress to those invited NOT to pass on the details to anyone else, no matter what excuse they come up with. Don't forget people may want overnight accommodation, so it's worth getting a contact list of local hotels and B&Bs ready as early as possible so that people can book ahead. But these details must be sent by Private Message ONLY and not published in the open forum or discussed in the Chat Room.

They only have to do 1 munch a year or even less so how long its been since they logged in has no real bearing....
Some may have taken time out to have families......Work commitments......Taking time out from swinging.......The possibilities are endless...
Many members have had profiles since before the takeover so therefore they have a free membership that doesnt expire...
Oh........And I am well aware of what a Munch is............I've been to one or two....

Is there any point to you posting the same bit of information twice dunno
Excuse my cynicism but does it not also have a commercial value to say 'almost 1,000,000 members as opposed to saying 50,000 active members. rolleyes

might be an idea.......to say send a pm out out to all members..saying that if account not used for say 48 monthes then their profile would be deleted. We would all be well aware.... could also send an out the week before actual deletion...givng them chance to log on. Would help a little to see the real list of active members I think.

I did read what you put so if someone hasn't logged on for 2000+ days then should they still remain on the chance that they may return.... why not if they haven't logged on for 2000+ they get a message being sent asking if they want to remain members. And why should paying members use slow servers because someone who got free membership and doesn't use sh, remains on?
Not very keen on profiles been deleted. I disappeared for about 9 months and then came back so I'm glad that that KEENO was still here waiting for me. biggrin
But I would love to see a deletion of old adverts. This could be a very short period of time, say 14 days.
If an ad isn't updated after 2 weeks its deleted.

Thats the kind of idea I have.

Keeno I agree with you its for people over 4/5 years, not a year or month.
I will edit my first post to clarify this.

I fail to see how it inconveniences you dunno
And the servers aren't slow at my end so there cant be a problem with the site due to thousands of inactive profiles.......Speak to your ISP ;-)

The inconvenience is if you search for a someone near you then hundreds of profiles come up and over half haven't visited in ages..... then people who are local and recent are mixed up with them. ISP??? why when other people experience server slow downs including chatrooms.
And another thing
There seems to be an obsession with sex amongest the membership. I think this ought to be cleaned up as well biggrin :D

Ok.........My last post as I can see you hell bent on not listening to any opinion other than your own...
Profiles or ads, however you want to describe them, when searched, appear in order of when they were last updated so it seems pretty simple, to me anyway,to look at the ones that have been updated recently dunno
And the chatroom servers are totally different to the ones that host the forums/ads so how fast/slow they are is not affected by the profiles that have been inactive for some time....
Have fun :-)
opps looks like Yes yes No no opppss....lol
we will have to do a bit of maths now... rolleyes wink

That sounds sensible.....other than I'd leave it longer to delete the ad's.

Thanks for explaining that makes it clearer.... but no need to put what I highlighted in red sad .... why am I not listening to any opinion other than my own... when have a said I don't agree or disagree I thought I was discussing it with you.... you asked how it inconvenienced me... i gave you that. Don't want to discuss with you anymore......
my twopennerth
ads for me are also a good sourse of information ..... i have found many a time that what someone says they are looking for and what they themselves have looked for often differ ..... ie. they say they are str8 but in the past have looked for bi ... inconsistancies (i know peoples preferences change over time) are a dead giveaway and hold valuable clues to whether or not you might like to meet them
keep the old profiles and ads as neither of them have any impact on how fast the site runs .. a slow chat room is the result of active members using the chatrooms not inactive members not using the site

Maybe there is the solution if someone is inactive in a chatroom for 1hr they get booted and cannot login for another 3hrs.
Anyway, an active profile doesn't mean someone's up for meeting. I'd only ever PM someone with a view to a meet if they had an ad running asking for one.

I never thought of that..

Pm me pleasssse. biggrin redface  :D :D
but just because someone is not 'activly' chatting in open room does not necessaraly mean they are not there .. they could be whispering or perhaps just voyering ... or perhaps as in the past, when the site has played up .. to keep you in the room you put your status to idle ... perhaps rather than booting you the system puts you to idle automaticaly rather than booting you .. a bit how like msn works.. msn dont feel the need to disconect you, just put you to busy
If you search an ad then look at the profile it tells you when that person was last online, wouldn't that give you a clue if they are still active or not?
I tryed adding someone to my friends list only to find out they had not been online for 400 weeks.
I think I spelt that name wrong! lol
As I had only spoken to them 20 minutes prior!
