Wheren't the new aliens just so creative? I'm almost wishing the week away so I can see part two. I didn't hid behind my sofa but I had to go into the kitchen once - got the progamme on Pace so will watch it again later on in the week.
Best thing on TV on Saturday nights.
lol

I thought they looked kinda cute ... all they need is a nail trim ...

Flying Pigs.................... Quick run for your life !!!
ant and dec all the way!!
none of that time and relative dimensions in space malarky!!
Definately Doctor Who here - they should have left Ant and Dec in Australia and lost them in the Jungle.
We're a pair of annoying celebrities so don't get us out of here!

Just getting ready for Dr Who again tonight. Looks promising! Oh, and David Tennant (scots bloke) is going to be the new Dr Who. Imagine all the kids who HAVEN'T seen the Doctor regenerate?
:P

I think David Tennant is a charismatic actor and I've enjoyed seeing him in Casanova, which I thought was a lively production. Be great to see him in the role of and I think he will make it his own. I also hope Billie Piper will stay for the next series 'cause she's just right for the role in my opinion, as well as being a cutie.
Overall the new series is in the tradition of British produced science fiction drama, lacking all the polish of American productions but nevertheless entertaining and even quite scary at times.

I actually think they should skip the regeneration this time round and just carry on without mentioning why he looks different ... first off, they already finished the first series so would have to rush in an Eccleston regen to Tennant scene with no back story leading up to it ... and secondly, tradition has it that Time Lords can only regenerate, 12 times? At this rate, they'll run out of regenerations ...
Think Eccleston's done a great job so far but really, did he not realise that Dr Who wasn't a one-off series???

Wasn't keen on DT being mentioned as a possible, now confirmed, replacement as he looks a bit too young ... but having seen him in Casanova, I think he'll be interesting in the role ... and yes, Billie Piper's a bit of a cutie ...
I'll wager the regeneration will be at the end of the xmas special. Eccleston has already said he is to appear in that and, as it has yet to be filmed, everything is in place.
From what I understand Christopher Eccleston only ever had the intention of playing one series. The BBC have never played down their expectation to introduce a regeneration fairly early on (otherwise the newer viewers wouldn;t understand). The Beeb however in their wisdom have made it sound like he quit but the intention only ever was for one series. David Tennant has always been considered for the part but has had various other contractual BBC commitments and so they got another actor in.
Christopher and David recorded the "13th" episode was recorded on a closed set last week.

Calista, were you waiting outside to get autographs... you groupie! And by the way, your sig line is absolutely brilliant.
I think Tennant will be brilliant in the role, & Cassanova has been such a great story, told in such an imaginative way. Looking forward to watching Saturday's instalment tonight on tape. lol

No I have a friend of a friend of one of the stars wink
Not totally convince about David Tennant yet ... but I'm willing to wait and see smile
With the first part of the two parter I was in fits of laughter... I just love the way he puts the lines across in that totally matter of fact way, and I still get a tingle when the hairs on the back of my nexk stand up when the music plays, lol.
Oddly enough I must have some regresive childhood thing going on, because some bits are still kinda scary in an odd sort of way confused A bit like watching some of the old horrors (ie amative) and finding that oddly more scary than the re-make
Billy can stay for a couple more serises as shes quite pleasing to the eye :P
What I want to know is, if they can travel time and they know from an experience who the bad guy is... why cant they go back in time and sort him out before he does what he did when he did it in the future!
... because then you'd be changing time, whereas the first time round, you were part of it all and meant to be there as a participant ... and also you'd meet yourself back in time and the same atoms can't occupy the same space and time ...
rolleyes I can't believe I had to explain something as basic as that to you
:lol2:
What was it with Star Trek TNG? A protocol of non interference? I guess time travel is also governed by the same protocol. Oh God, I miss my ex's full collection of Star Trek!
As for Casanova the series stinks in my opinion. What a weak, stupid script and idiotic performances! The guy most of you seem to be crazy about is a kid, there is no sex appeal, he has completely missed the essence of the Great Casanova (OK maybe not his fault but the script writer's and directors...) Let's hope this creative team does not decide to remake the Decameron and do more damage to Italians! lol

You're right - in Trekker terms it would breach the Prime Directive, and interference with the timeline could cause a temperal paradox. Mind you, by just going back and forth in time and fighting off alien invasions the Dr has already changed time. I suspect he can't go back to before the incident because the TARDIS has inherant faults in it's spatial guidance systems which always result in his arrival in the wrong point in time/space.

Alternatively, he can't do anything that's not in the script lol
Deffinately Dr Who even though ant and deck are geordies and went to school with my nice......... I actually think Dr who was marginaly funnier
My two kids loved it, esp the pig running down the corridor.
I have been pretending to unzip my head which makes then run for cover.... haha

I absolutely love Dr Who.
Christopher Eccleston is the most georgeous man alive, seconded only by David Tennant.
I am in heaven.

:therethere: :therethere:
Can you watch the repeat tomorrow on BBC3?
what swung it for me on the Doctor who front was my 6 year old hiding behind a cushion, peeping everry now and then cos he couldnt resist. Of course he couldnt sleep last Saturday night cos he was shitting himself.
It so reminded me of when i was a nipper peeping out from behind my Grandad as i sat behind him in his chair. Some things never change eh?

Does it clash with F1? lol
I watched the new Dr Who for the first time last night. biggrin
I thought it was hilarious when the monster was killed using vinegar lol . It just exploded into what looked like green spaghetti. Fantastic.
The whole thing about Dr Who is that kids do hide behind something to watch it, and get nightmares. Always have always will. So why are the namby pamby people in the general press complaining about their kids doing that and wanting to get the programme moved so that younger kids cant watch it???????? rolleyes
It has to be Dr Who every time.
I love this new series its so cheesy I want to put it on some toast with some worcester sauce.
I can't wait for next week though, although I might be hiding behind the sofa when I hear the words exterminate.
