i know gem but come on after all these yrs they could have spent some money on it and actually made it into something special now theve scrapped garden force theres atlest 500 quid extra on special effects lol

They did spend more money on it.......nearly £1,000,000 an episode!!
Dr Who for sure! Ant and Dec are repeated on ITV2 twice more!
Dr Who was brilliant - funny and scary all at once. Loved it. I have a clay Dalek on my mantlepiece which I made at school when the Daleks first came out, people have laughed at it every since but now it's suddenly become trendy!
If you got to you can buy your very own Dalek.
Beam me up Scotty!
lol
I thought doctor who was abit poop, think he will be a hit with the ladies i am from Newcastle i would go for Ant and Dec smile

Got home form watching England beta Northen Ireland at the home of football/
Turned on DVD recorder and watched Dr Who.
Absolutly Brilliant.
New Doctor is funny and witty. However not as good as the late Pertwee.

Yeah we watched Dr Who, and will watch Ant & Dec on ITV2.
Main reason for watching Dr Who was that most of it was filmed in Cardiff. All of the shops that were there and the shopping centre with all the dummies that came to life, are places that we know. Did look strange seeing London buses and black cabs out in Cardiff.
Saw alot of it being filmed too, you never know we might be in some of the episodes too.
But was good to see Dr Who back anyway.
M&T xx
cant help thinking tho that Alan Rickman would have been a fantastic Dr Who.

Wasn't Donald Sutherland.....once up for the big screen version that never happened?
I like Ant & Dec, but it was good to have The Doctor back. A more believable one than Silvester Mccoy.
The kind of entertainment that's been missing on Saturdays for a few years, in my view.
Given that, in an ideal universe, Ant & Dec wouldn't actually exist, the Doctor wins hands down. Actually, what I'd like to see is a story where the Doctor goes back in time and prevents Ant & Dec being born...
The first episode was ok. I think Chris Eccleston will be good in the part once he hits his stride.

PHILISTINE mad
There was only ONE programme on last night for me. And I asked Lucy about who had the dumb idea of starting the Scottish Munch at the same time as Doctor Who  rolleyes .
It was great fun, the two leads were first rate, the special effects were very good. I'll certainly be watching for the rest of the series. biggrin :D :D
mmm Dr Who or Ant & Dec ..... no contest .....
SCOTTISH MUNCH won!!!

For some unfathomable reason it's blue... must be to do with my footballing allegiance but I suspect that there wasn't a silver paint. Black is reserved for the might Mark - though I can confirm he does have legs (and mighty handsome legs they are too!).

Thats what I thought too! Who knows for his next regeneration?
That aside, I enjoyed it very much, fast passed and both leads were excellent. Given that my 'Doctor' was Jon Pertwee, I think Christopher Eccleston has certainly made his mark with and jumps. I loved the hand and sofa joke! Dont forget each Doctor has his own personallity.
Lets see how the rest of the series takes shape.
Definatly

Your not the only one without a VCR........gone DVD on everything now.
Well maybe one of you lovely men can help out the equally lovely Ice with a copy??
Welcome back Dr Who! The first time in weeks I have had cause to turn on my television. Though my favourite Doctor is Jon Pertwee, closely followed by Tom Baker. The Jon Pertwee years I associate with hiding behind the sofa during the scary moments. I was beginning to grow out of that when Tom Baker took over, but I was still an avid fan. Christopher Eccleston is a fine actor and a good Dr Who. My only gripe is what they have done to the theme tune, but overall a very good first episode.
I have to say that Ant & Dec have no entertainment value with me whatsoever. I find their inane chat and "humour" has me reaching for the off button.

Dr Who for definate, never watched Ant and Dec, not after Biker Grove anyway wink
I thought the new Dr was alot like the 'true' Dr - Tom Baker, but it seems lots of people thought he was like Jon Pertwee, maybe we see in him what we want to see biggrin
PS Awaiting the wrath of the Dr Who fans for making the 'true' doctor comment :D and while I am on the subject, for the record the only James Bond is Sean Connery.
Byker Grove!!
And Dr Who drew 10m viewers on the first showing yesterday. I watched it again tonight and gave up on Ant and Dec.
Incidentally I was stuck on a plane the other week at Heathrow Airport for 3 hours with Ant and Dec two rows in front of me and Little Ant and Little Dec about 14 rows behind.
Nothing to do with the topic - just thought I 'd throw it in on a slow Sunday in Newcastle when I'd rather be in Glasgow!!
:P
