Does It Count As "Swinging"?
Defining the term swinger, and deciding who it applies to is something that is a constant source of discussion. And always seem to go the same way - people trying to lable other people based on their own personal preferences.
If everyone stuck to talking about themselves, and why they consider themselves to be swinging, we could have probably sorted this out months ago.
Personally, I consider myself to be a swinger because I am in a relationship where between the two of us we have the confidence to explore both our individual sexualities and our sexual relationship.

Couples who have sex with couples are "Swingers". Singles who have sex with singles are not. By dictionary definition.
Thats called an opinion. At no stage in the above sentence have i said the words "swingers are better people than singles".
How can a dictionary definition be an opinion. It's either one or the other surely?
And no, you haven't said that, but I think it comes across that way. Just my opinion (and not a dictionary definition)2 single people having sex is not swinging as its 1-on-1 sex and at that moment in time they're are not "swinging".

Swinging was a term made up to acknowledge those who "wife swap" - two couples who swap partners for extra-marital pleasure and to fulfil sexual fantasy. That is absolute fact.
However, being "Swingers" on this site (i.e. any couple) does not make us any better than those who cannot fall into that category.
So I cannot fall into that category very often because I am very choosy about which couples I swing with (by dictionary definition) How do you know that all the other single people advertising to meet other singles aren't the same as me? How do you know that they don't have more than one ad? One advertising for other singles and one advertising for couples? What if they want to meet a single so that the 2 of them can then meet other singles or couples and thereby swing (by dictionary definition)

If you want to update the term swingers to mean those who are sexually liberal, then fine! All i'm saying is that to use the ORIGINAL term, its only couples (in fact, married couples, so even WE don't count) that are "Swingers".
I'll write to Mr Collins forthwith and tell him that I want to update the meaning of the term then shall I :roll:
