I believe that laughter is one of the best medicines! And honestly? I don't think I laugh enough. I may have a giggle or titter (!) but its not until I have one of those moments when I laugh so much that I cry and loose the ability to stand, that I realise I have not properly laughed for a while.
And its often the silliest things that get me going.
I always remember my dear old mum asking me about a clue in a crossword. She asked me how you spelt Lionel. I asked her what the clue was and she said, "something - the lionheart"
I was hysterical for hours and it still makes me giggle!
I have the best laughs nowadays with my best mate, her daughter and my son. Often after too much wine, champagne or vodka(or all 3!)while trying to sing on the playstation "singstar"!
Yes, I think it keeps you young. I still laugh at very silly things. It's also sooooo theraputic.
The most I EVER laughed was when a friend and I were in a shopping centre. Walking infront of us was a man with his girlfried. He was VERY muscular and was wearing a TINY vest to show off his muscles. He was swaggering/strutting his stuff to an unbelievable degree. He looked at his girlfriend and walked straight into the lampost infront of him. I laughed to the point that my legs gave way on me. My friend actually wet herself. If it had happened to anyone less cocky, I would have been straight in there to see if he was OK...but I couldn't get off the pavement!! Many years later, whilst cycling around Malaysia and Thailand..I thought of the event and started laughing so, so much that I just had to stop cycling!
I love laughing, think its great when people disolve ito a complete fit of giggles. and I also think its a lovely quality, when people can laugh at themselves. The world would be so much better if everyone had a sense of humour
I cant have laughed since 1977 then
Stupid things make me laugh, the kinda stuff that no-one else finds funny. I do have a warped sense of humour.
I love the kinda laughter that makes it hard for you to stand, breathe and compose yourself.
There have often been moments, at the worse possible time, when I've been gripped by laughing so much that I can't do a thing!
