We don't need to send the medics in then.... wink

Well maybe I'm not feeling so good still... lol
I sobbed.
Yeah, it was a lil bit corny but who cares... bloody great plot lines throughout this series and I never object to having Rose, Captain Jack et al back, even just for a cameo.
Roll on the Christmas special!
Passes Nola a hankie... I cant wait for the Christmas special too!!!! surprised

i dont remeber that episode (thought id watched 99.9% of them lol
altho i did know jack was immortal
what series is it from ?

biggrin

Jack becoming immortal was from "Bad Wolf" which was Series 27 Ep 12 (or if you like Dr Who (2005) Series 1 Ep 12). This was the actual episode where Rose looked into the vortex.
The actual explanation of Bad Wolf was in the episode entitled "The Parting of the Ways" (which is the one after the above "Bad Wolf") which is when Christopher Eccleston handed over to David Tennant.

I've been on a doctor who forum, the theory on there (one of many lol) is that the Doctor splits into 2 Doctors - 2 David Tennants. Apparently there have been screenshots of him in his usual brown suit, and of him in a blue suit
One Doctor David is the usual one we all know and love, the other is a mortal version of himself, and the mortal version goes off with Rose at the end of the episode to her parallel world.
Did anyone else hear "the sound of drums" as Donna was sitting on the stairs? The same sound the Master heard throughout his life?
Also, at the end, the Doctor actually said "I'm regeneratED" not "I'm regeneratING"

Ooops
Hope this didn't spoil tonights episode for anyone confused :?

Nooooooooooooooo, we took no notice of ya :lol2: :lol2:
You were right tho eh? wink
I listened to what he said at the end a few times, in one I heard regenerated and the other regenerating... I couldnt make my mind up what he actually said. :?
A enjoyable Dr Who most certainly did'nt expect a Dalek to betray Davros!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the burning question now is will Martha Jones take up Captain Jacks offer will Mickey tag along as well?
Will they fill the two empty Torchwood slots?????

Wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry at that bit, steel clad Uber-space-Nazis floating through the woods of Nuremberg screaming Exterminate in emotionless German...
I can see a diplomatic incident on the horizon...
Poor Donna...
...she's gonna have to wait for the series 4 DVD set now just to remember what she did.
Mmmmmmmm?????
Is it just me, but I found the last episode of Dr Who rather disappointing? It felt like a mish-mash of ideas, but with very little in terms of resolution.
dunno :dunno: :dunno:

I enjoyed the special effects, but because I had missed some episodes, a lot of it didn't make sense to me.. I think I might be watching them online this weekend to try and get the gist of it...
I am having a Dr Who fest on Sunday... bring on the popcorn!!! wink
Well I can finally read this thread now, not had a chance to watch the final two episodes till now.
I loved it but it did feel a bit dissjointed, presembable too keep us hooked untill the Christmas special, but having to wait till 2010 sad :(
I only found out a few months ago when I was about 6yrs my dad used to work on DR Who and other stuff, and when they finished recording that particular series, my dad took the boards that made up the centre console of the Tardis and made it into a drinks bar in our house rotflmao
It does seem strange that we have to wait 2 years till the next series...
Roll on Christmas... confused

What it was, was three individuals instead of one that started galloping towards the end with solutions that came out of no where because the story never got around to setting the end up.
Bring back the old stories with;
a beginning, a big lie
a middle, where the characters interact
an end, where there is at least a connection with the rest of the story.
Has Dr. Who fallen into the trap of so much Si-fi, where the story is only there to support the special effects.
After all what was it about Star Wars? The big ships or the tension between characters. Did they ever get to the end of a film and Luck say "It's OK, I have this button in my pocket, it will fix everything."
I understand what you mean Tmann... Hopefully after my Dr Who fest on Sunday, I will be able to make more sense of it...
Think I might also watch a few early Star Trek's... now IMO that didn't rely on special effects..
What do you think?? confused:
I never like the first movie, but it made cents, dollars and cents. The first episodes were poor as well, but once the characters form it got better. As for the pilot, if I had seen that first, well that would have been the only one .
At least there was more of a story line... what, in your opinion, is the best sci fi series then? And to anyone else reading this.. please tell me yours too!

Star Trek
(from The Next Generation onwards) although I do like the early Star Trek films with Kirk,Spock etc...
