I still miss Christopher Ecclescakes. *sulk*

I now avoid anything he is in if I possibly can. Yes he was good as the DR but he should well know that the DR is more than a one series commitment. His excuses about not wanting to be type cast were just ridiculous, once you have played the DR you will forever be known as that anyway. The series was just back after being axed and it did well in the first series, his quitting could have really put that in jeopardy. Luckily we got David Tennant probably one of the finest actors around today, anyone else may have struggled. Dr Who offered Ecclestone a massive opportunity and he should have at least respected that with a two series minimum showing.
Agrees whole heartedly.
"Run for your life"
"Everywhere has a north!"
"You've got to admit - I was brilliant ;)"
Alas, he should have stayed one more season.
When I was young, did I just say that?
The stories consisted of a great big lie, the 4+ weeks of getting the Doc into trouble out of it, back in again and the the story got wound up.
Now it just seems like a lot of special effects and then the end.
It all went wrong with Tom Baker. At this point I will duck, I know there are some who love him.

Throw a broken Da'lek extermination ray gun
David who? (no pun intended) The last good Dr was John Pertwee.

David Tennant was brilliant in Casanova :smitten:

I will agree that in the olden days lol the story lines took longer, maybe 4 episodes? Having said that I only watched Dr Who from Tom Baker onwards. I think in the modern Dr Who's the longest story lines have been 3 episodes?
I Liked Tom Baker when I was young and when I was watching it. I remember watching the regeneration to Peter Davidson very well. Although at the time I liked Tom Baker in retrospect I wouldn't want to see that style of Dr again. All that Darkness and the long scary stares etc would just drive me right round the bend now. Perhaps thats just a sign of our times where fast paced is better.

The new doc and the TARDIS were being filmed in the snow in Cardiff Bay yesterday. Wasn't close enough to see if he was any good though!
