Now many of you might think that OMG that girl can't drive, but I can. My instructor says he can't teach me anymore. It all down to me on the day. OK I admit 3 out of 6 was sheer stupidity on my part, 2 were just bad luck (went str8 over a roundabout when indicating left grrr on test 5), but the last 1 was totally unfair. I was going 23/24 mph in 2nd gear in a 30mph road and the examiner failed me for going too fast !!!! Anyone got any good stories that might boost me up for test 7 please. I am clutching at everything to pass this time. It has cost me £350 so far
I have always thot the driving test was flawed because you could be a fantastic driver but make a feck up for the duration of the test or you could be totally crap and do fantastic on the test. It's just your luck or bad luck on the day as there are so many outside influences that could hamper you or you might have a great day and fly thro it. Good luck either way tho.
if you feel you were unfairly failed than you can appeal. the two incidents mentioned do not sound like serious faults, so alone should not have been a automatic fail, you will have needed to have accumalated 15 + minor faluts to amount to a fail. i found rescue remedy worked really well when i took mine, it took the edge of nevres away but still allowed me to remain focused. good luck xx fem xx
fem_4_taboo I have never had more thann 5 minors on any of my tests which makes it worse :cry: I did think of appealing, but once they got that F on your sheet, there not much you can do about it
I failed my test 3 times and passed on my 4th go. I was so down hearted failing all the time that nearly gave up! :cry: Im glad I didn`t as I would be lost without my car now . The same examiner failed me twice and each time I failed it was silly mistakes, which looking back were probably caused by nerves!. By the time I took my test the 4th time I was 6 months pregnant and was determined I would passed before the baby came. My examiner was lovely and made me feel really relaxed and I think it made a difference because I passed with flying colours!!. Don`t give up, good luck!
Good Luck Mitch!! My first test I failed becauase i drove like an idiot. I didn't even get past halfway brfore "heading back to the center" I was driving a car I hadn't ever driven before. The instructor had his car stolen the night before my test. This resulted in me taking the test in a Golf GTI of a friend of my dads. Slightly different experience from the Ford fiesta diesel I had been learning in. I failed but i failed quickly I know of two people who passed on their 7th's and a really good friend of mine has not yet passed a last count 12th time! abd though it makes no difference ge is ab oceanograhic scientist and travels the world all the time he just can't seem to pass. It is a strange old test to be sure and really sometimes there is no figuring it but hey got to keep plugging away.
Don't give up. My best friend failed 9 times:- 1. She knocked someone over on a pedestrian crossing 2. She reversed into a parked car 3. She pulled out of the test station car park & knocked a guy off his bike. 4. She knocked down a small wall trying to do a 3 point turn 5. She hit a lamp post and caused £700 worth of damage to council property 6. She adjusted the rear view mirror and pulled it off the window - test was cancelled 7. She missed the brake and hit a railway line taking the sump off the bottom of the car 8. She broke the key in the steering column and couldnt re-start the car after she stalled it ..........and last but not least she knocked the examiner out when doing an emergency stop (in the days before compulsary seat belts!) I past my test in feb best thing i done and yes i fail becase of nerves 3 times befor that so i know how you feel just go for it dont give up as i did that about 3 years ago and i allways think i should have done it then and as it be said you could be a very good driver just on the day nerves get to you any way good luck xxx

OMG thanks for that blonde. This has made me feel much better. My tests was not hat bad: 1. Failed on the roundabout going back to the test centre at the end. Missed the car coming onto the roundabout and driver had to 'significantly' slow down. 2. Hill start junction. Forgot to look to my right and pulled out in front of another car. I actually said to the examiner can we go back to the test centre now please. 3. Should not have got in the car. Did not wake up right in the morning. 4. Apparently I went to pull of at the wrong traffic lights. Bare in mind. Still had handbrake ?? Still not figured that 1 out 5. Asked to take 1st exit on roundabout, but I had to go straight over while indicating. Examiner was gutted he had to fail me 6. 23/24mph in a 30mph road. Figure that 1 out !!!! Hey but thanks guys. This is making me feel better for D Day
oi ya daft bugger didnt u know 7 is a lucky number? :confused2: good luck 4 ur test hun :thumbup: , know u can do it, just keep thinking of all the trips u can annoy mick on once you've passed :twisted: just do wot i did on my test, worry like fuck all the way there, then sit back, chill and think of what a muppet the examiner is once you get going :giggle: oh and mick? no piss taking :sparring: lol

PMSL.... Ohhh my God i laughed here... Bless ya! Well you know you can drive but the poor guy sitting next to you seems to think by doing the things you mentioned can't lol... He hasn't much to go by really a few minutes and what you do is done lol.. He bases it on if you make those few mistakes in a small given time.. How many might you make when let loose!! Best advice I can give is to go to Keswick to book.. its got the highest pass rate in the UK.

Passed my m/cycle test first time, passed my car test first time with 3 points against. It is perfectly possible to fail for going at 23 mph in a 30 limit, if there are parked cars and children about them, then 23 may well be dangerous at that time.

Good luck with the test. My sprog passed hers 1st time a couple of weeks ago, it took me 2 attempts, failed 1st purely through nerves but passed on 2nd. Its just how things go on the day Im afraid. You may well be a perfectly competent driver but if you have a bad day due to nerves etc then thats bad luck. You have to impress the examiner and if all else fails......bribe the bugger!
I passed 4th time. The first two times I just wasn't ready- but was pushed into it too soon. Third time, I should have passed, but the examiner was a fuckwit. Passed my bike test 1st time though- which I was dead chuffed with. I have a mate who took 9 attempts to pass. I've yet to get in the car with him though! Good luck!
I failed the first time without getting into the car. I had forgotten to sign my provisional licence. I had my certified instructor with me and the examiner still refused to accept I was licenced. He reckoned I could have found the licence in the street. I ask you! If I'd found it in the street I'd have had the sense to check the signature and fill it in ffs. But best of luck - remember that you know this stuff and breathe to relax and you'll be fine.

I passed my test first time Me and a friend were doing our lessons at the same time and she failed her 1st one before I took my 1st test. She said she was shaking which made me think "omg, so will I". My instructor was great. He said to me that I was gonna pass cos his previous six pupils passed first time. That made me feel really positive. I wasn't nervous at all. I didn't want to let my instructor down, and of course myself. I wasn't shaking at all. It just felt like a normal driving lesson. I benefitted aswell cos the examiner was chatty and sociable with me. We had a good crack on. I think you just have to go in with a positive frame of mind. I've also heard that if you take ur test on a morning, ur more likely to pass cos they have a maximum amount of pupils they can pass in one day. Dont know if this is really true tho? My test was at 9:40. Hope this is of some help. Anyway, best of luck with it Miss Cream xxx
seriously... how many lessons did you guys take before you sat your tests? I am about to start soon..... have all the forms and going to send them off.... I am going to go down the automatic route (I know... been advised to use the stick... but I figure why mess with a stick when you have a million other things to consentrate on) I am also on a promise of a dogging session when i pass.... what is the world record for passing...... :lol: :lol:
