Is there a way to see the ad (if any) of people who post on these boards
I know I'm as thick as a slice of black pudding but I can't see how to search by name.
hiya parrot,
unless they put a link to the ad in their signature, or use the WWW link on posts, the short answer is no. you might occasionally find the same user name on an ad as on the forum post if you search the ads for it, but not likely.
didn't help a whole lot did i? ;)
neil x x x ;)
it wasnt a daft question m8, well it may have been but seeing I did the exact same question last week and nobody laughed I would say it isnt daft smile
OK, I guess it's to protect posters in a way so that's fine.
I just thought maybe I was missing something that was glaringly obvious to everyone else, lol

Not all of us have ads Parrot.
Do rememer a vague comment being made about the possibility of us getting a "Profile" section though. Somewhere like the ads section where forum people could post a bit of a "hey guys this is me - ain't I cute" type thing without it being an ad. But haven't heard any more about that.

I don't have an ad myself.

Having separate profile section is not really necessary. Lots of members have a profile in the ad's section, stating that it is only a profile and not an ad as such.
We have had one for a few months now and when we want to turn it into an ad, we simply edit the post cool
That way people can learn about us without us getting bombarded by emails asking for a meet, although we still get a few each week, but not hundreds as we did when it was a proper ad
Alternatively, you can get your own SH page with pics and details about yourself. Not sure how to go about that as we host our own web page, but I'm sure someone can advise you on getting a SH if you wanted one biggrin

if I recall it correctly, you send the content text and pics to mark who then adds it and he sends you the url to it

Thanks Kristof! I should perhaps know that stuff as Jon is a moderator, but he's not here for me to ask redface

Umm - was asked to remove mine because it wasn't an ad.
I understood that - and had no problem with that request. That is when the suggestion was made that a profile section may be considered.
