Just had an easter egg given to me by my wonderful wife only to find when i opened it that it was thinner than the foil that enclosed it. I seem to remember that they were much thicker? It may be me being a grump again but i doubt it. Suspect it's just another example of being ripped off!
Hmmmm I bought Easter Eggs in Asda 2 months ago for a £1 perhaps the key is buying early? They were Cadburys and Nestle ones too not smart price lol Aldi were selling chocolate bunnies and things like that so cheap that the local kids gave up stealing them as it just wasn't worth the time.
Yes the chocolate is thinner but then Easter eggs were never that cheap before so just buy more. Dont buy in petrol stations where even now at sale prices they are more than Aldis were 5 days before Easter.
Easter eggs are much thinner now cos they generally are made by machine - it spins the mould round and gets them beautifully even but also lets the manufacturers get them incredibly thin. I used to love looking for the thick bit left when they were done by hand.
We had Thornton's eggs this year and they had lovely thick bits, especially round the edge but they weren't stuck together. That is actually good cos then you don't get bits of chocolate everywhere when you finally smash them open.
To be honest hey really aren;t worth the money - apart from the fact that you really want an egg shape at Easter. We generally get an egg or two and then anything else is block choc, other sweets and such like.

Do grown ups really get Easter eggs, why? dunno

Why not?
As I taught my son - you are NEVER too old for anything. You may be too young for stuff, but so long as you can physically manage it - age is no barrier to anything. That includes going on the swings, watching Winnie the Pooh films at the pictures (a favourite pastime at Uni) and Easter Eggs. biggrin
hold on!.. i was always told that easter egg chocolate was less pure but never the less its actually better for you?..
Regardless of the above, i need to announce the new addiction of 'Caramel Nibbles'!! honestly theyre amazing with a nice cup of tea and you dont need an excuse such as easter!! wink
