Adopt an animal, name a star ... lovely ideas but would a 2 year old appreciate them?
i don't know your circumstances, chicken, but maybe something special you could create that you can give to her at a later date?
Whatever the occasion, the most special gifts are those that come from the heart.

How about mail order easter egg, or a supermarket home delivery to her mothers address, or to another relative who your daughter does see.
Or you buy a bar of choccie, wrap it well in bubble wrap and post it?

How about this - not exactly ducks, but, well, not even similar actually :undecided: Although they do both have feathers and like water confused
I'm using a bit of artistic licence on the Easter theme!! lol

You get a certificate with it - and also a knitting pattern to make jumpers for poorly penguins, awwwww :inlove:
Along with that, maybe get her the DVD March of the Penguins or Happy Feet (probably better for a tot), and a cuddly penguin to make it a complete gift??
Mind you - tis a very penguin orientated gift, not much good if she doesn't like em :lol2:
Edit: just looked and they've got a massive stash of jumpers already :lol2: so cute!

I think a 2 year old would appreciate chocolate.
I couldn't find any ducks but thorntons do these nice chocolate easter bunnies and you can have a personalised message put on them and get it delivered

biggrin just looking at the penguin idea now,she does love em from seeing em at the in the post to her mothers house sadly ends up in the bin before daughter see's it,has to be something that isnt a material thing that can be thrown/hidden or denied....
ive found this and it looks good, very topical too :D

Going from what Marya suggested, I love this organisation: You can 'give' anything, from a single bee to a donkey or a fruit tree. Imagine later on in life knowing your father 'planted' a tree for you that has effectively enabled the survival of an entire family in another country :inlove:
but as already said, would a 2 year old appreciate this gesture right now ?
its very easy for me to sit here and say this, but why not just give your ex a call? half an hour and a chocolate rabbit is all you're asking for.......but as we dont know the circumstances, why not open your daughter a bank account in her name, put the equivalent of easter eggs and everything else in it, and when she's old enough to understand, a copy of every deposit slip in a card - that way she'll see you were thinking of her, even when you couldnt be there.
It wont make you feel any better right now, but it will, later kiss

i did the building society thing ages ago with someone else as trustee,it just gets sooooooo frustrating not being able to do the normal dad things,me and my daughters life seemed to revolve around duck ponds when we were together so i know anything connected with ducks etc she will im banging my head against a brickwall with phoning and asking for 20 mins with her at the mo,would give anything just to hug her so not being able to do that i find myself being consumed thinking about ways to show her how much i care.

Robbie you are doing your best in a bad situation and it will not go un-noticed. Your daughter will grow up and there will come a day when she is independant of her mother and will seek you out. For her to know that you were thinking of her will mean so much to her,and she will be able to see that you cared and loved her altho you couldnt be there with her. It doesnt help your pain at not being with her but will help her later, and she will know that she was loved.
Wishing that things get better and sorted for you both soon kiss

I was going to post something rediculous and stupid in here Robbie, however, having read your predicament, decided against it... I wish you all the best with your choices, and hope for yourself and your daughter that all goes well.....

ok i know this might sound odd, but in tescos they do these little bears ( along with mugs etc) that wear t- shirts that can have a photo of your choice on it( may be one of you).
i read somewhere once that kids love to have photos of their parents, even if they live with them.
i did it for mine years ago, got a pic and had it laminated they loved it.
i know you said you cant send chocolate, so sorry if the same goes for a cuddly bear.
oh and build a bear do teddys where you can but your own message on a voice box, insert it in the bear and they will send it to your daughter.
hope you find something that fits the bill.( no duck pun intended lol)

cheers for all the replies and words here biggrin
ive now adopted two new born chicks at a hen sanctuary, some personalised stuff will be sent to her i.e pics and all that but im having all the stuff sent doubled up so i get sent everything here too so if it doesnt get to her its here as her membership go's through we get a code which enables us to log on thier site and can have a look at the "chickcam" i sent them a lengthy email explaining my predicament and theyve been really helpful.
gonna send something from me to her too,on the off chance she actually gets it,it feels great having been able to do something positive :D
and thanks again for all the support passionkiss

Glad you've found a suitable prezzie with the chicks, but seriously dude, you've got to take this further with the social services folk - your daughter has as much right to see and interact with her Father as you do with her. What your ex is doing is harming your daughter as well as you.
All the best. xxx
