Eating there own POO!!

MY lovely Daughter of 8............. Came up to me with her Magazine and says mummy did you no that Animals eat there own poo!........ Yes dear i said.. so she askers so are rabbits do then ........ Yes dear!
So why do we have to muck them out!... dunno
As now i am on the subject here and reading her Mag.......... i was shocked to no that peep that are keen Followers of Tantric Yoga, drink there own pee :shock:
Getting back to poo again did you no that Skatole Which is one of the Chemicals that Makes poos smell............... is used as a food flavouring.... they use it in Vanilla Ice cream!!
OOO and Clare Links got one for you!............. Urea is one of the best Skin moistursers and many skin creams contain an artfifical form of it!
Don't come near me when ya what another snog from me :shock: :P

Rabbits have to eat their own poo as they can not fully digest it all first time. If they didnt they would be missing out on lots of the nutrients that they need.

What you muck out is the empty shell, rabbits know the difference.

What do you mean, "some tribes"? its still done here, i know people who have asked the midwife to preserve the afterbirth so that they could take it home and eat it. I think its rich in iron which is what meany women need after giving birth If i remeber correctly you boil it!

Went to Whipsnade last weekend.
Whilst there saw baby elephants eating there mothers poo. :shock:
Somehow, and I still don't no how, they still manage to look cute
even during this gross act.
The elephant keeper informed me that they need to eat their mothers poo as it contains
"friendly bacteria" that they need in their gut to help them digest the plant and vegetable
matter that they eat.
Any one fancy a life of friendly bacteria? Me thinks I will be sticking to the Yakult thanks!
