It;s not rude before you think so LOLOL
We've quite a collection of electrical appliances under the TV ...
DVD/Video combined
Cable TV
Amplifier
Cd Player
Xbox/DVD
Home cinema surround sound thingy ...
as there are so many we have to have a scart switching box ....
I want to have the xbox (for a dvd) on ... i need the tv, xbox, cinema thingy and fiddle with the scar tthingy to get the right one ... I want a cd on .. I have to have the cd player, amp and then fiddle with the amp in case the last time it was used with the laptop and the setting has changed ... I want to video a programme that I'm watching then I need the video/dvd, TV, Cable box and cinema thingy on and again fiddle with the scart switcher.
:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:
I thought technology was supposed to make life easier? Suddenly the goldfish tank has become very appealing ........
Don't get me started on the amount of remote controls we have
Around our TV we have.....
CD player
Cassette deck
Video
Large amplifier
DVD player
Centre speaker
Sky box
There are also a couple of speakers on the left and right of the TV and 2 speakers mounted on the walls behind us, with cables running up inside the walls. biggrin
Plus portable minidisc and playstation when the little 'un or I are playing on it.
Sod the remotes you should see the bloody cables that are behind that lot.
Countess loves it. It's probably her favorite thing in the house......NOT
It took her 2 years to pluck up the courage to turn the amp on in case she did something wrong. lol  :giggle:
Hate to say it, but being the sad techy nerdy type, I don't have this problem smile
I've got the TV, my amp (for the surround, etc), the DVD player, the vido, the GameCube, my cable box and the iPod (because I can't stand all that tedious mucking about with CDs). All live hapilly together.
:)
Is there a smug emote:
lol
LOLOL I have been warned by Morbius not to have everything all turned on at once
We have a cupboard with all ours in and it gets so hot in there that we've decided to take the doors off the front for the time being
It has to be a fire safety hazard rolleyes
Sigh ... he just asked me if I want the option of the laptop playing through the cineman thingy sad  ... all I want is to listen to my cd :(
ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES ! ! ! ! ! !
When I got back to the house on Friday, the washing machine, tumble dryer (and more) were gone.
(I did know they were going to go. I'd just rather have been told when they were going rather than "they've gone")
I went out Friday night, stayed at the Hotel longer than intended, and spent Saturday afternoon, shunting base units to fit a washer/dryer. Big mistake. It's crap. Washes ok (but then I'm not thatdirty - unless asked  ) But fluckin 'ell. The dryer bit takes an hour and a half to do what the tumble dryer did in 45 mins. So it looks like a far bigger proportion of my already too short weekends will be doing washing. (Offers to come and help me fold the washing always welcome  )
Went to the freezer. Thought I ought to try something solid. - NO FLUCKIN microwave ! ! !
Didn't think I'd miss the sky box. I was wrong, can't get classicfmTV now  what am I going to use to chill out and relax while I schlepp around in here??
I could go on - but won't.
Electrical appliances aren't my favourite things this weekend !!

Tell her I can so relate ... Morbius is writing idiotproof instructions as we speak !!!
The four year old in the house seems to have mastered it perfectly! "little bugger" mad
Dambuster ... ask Morb about the fridge/freezer when you see him ... we have a fitted kitchen that he fitted a year ago with some difficulty ... bought a new Frridge/freezer (one of those big american ones) and it wouldn't fit ... it was 1cm out ... he almost had to unfit the whole kitchen    (I left him too it that day redface )

Mind you - I suppose now I've got less excuse to get on and finish the house.
Bathroom to finish, fitted wardrobes for my bedroom, kitchen and all appliances to fit, "make good" round the new french doors, finish the internal french doors between the lounge and dining room.
And, bear in mind, I'm only here at the weekends !!!
(and to be fair, she hasn't taken anything that we'd not agreed)
i believe our house to be Mr RSAB2's shrine to all things electric, powergen just love us!!!
Mrs RSAB2 xxx
I have complete entertainments packages in my living room and bedroom, except the better DVD player and the PC are in my bedroom. That way I can perv at porn dvd copies and join in swingers heaven without my sprogs seeing what I'm up to :P

When I up and left my ex-husband, he got home from late shift one night to find the following things missing from the house:
Microwave.
Some frozen food.
One mototcycle. (mine)
One laptop. (mine)
Wife.
Children.
I left other things I could have done with taking, as I had bought new (with help from Visa and the never-never from various stores) washer/dryer, fridge freezer, beds, everything else.... It's not east to do a quick quiet flit with the aid of only a "man with a van" if you take everything, is it?
He got really stressy over..... the frozen food. :rol:

As i've said elsewhere, to be fair, she didn't take anything that we hadn't already agreed.
At least she left me my nice solid pine bed
Remember the days when all there was in the corner of the room was just the TV it was alot easier to move out to dust!Just one plug going into the wall.
just made life a little easier by getting rid of the video player and DVD and replacing them with a DVD recorder thats one less appliance to worry about,so its just that and the cable box under the TV,the cinema system is beside the TV its all part of the sub woofer!Like i said wasn't it easier in the old days!! rolleyes
Lol when I left my ex, I took:
My clothes
My CD collection (left him with one CD - only 2 less than SteveG was left with) :giggle:
The Dyson vac (which he'd bought me for my birthday the year before rolleyes)
The computer
(Thank goodness for credit cards!!)
Errrr.... That's it - oh, and we share the children. No, not one each (although he did suggest it evil )
Which CD did you leave?

When I left my ex we had an agreement that I took everything I took into the house and anything I had paid for after all he was the one earning almost £50k a year .....
He was left with all the electrical appliances  (bought secondhand becasue he was too tight fisted to pay out for anything at all) a desk and feck all else!
But he did get to keep the house, bike, car etc ...
I really pissed my x hubby off by going out and buying a brand new tv, vid and dvd when he whinged that he had paid for the ones I had. He also thought it was funny that I would have to do the washing up myself until I showed him the dishwasher I bought hahahahaha!!!! My belief, if you ain't got a man to do it, get a machine!! The machine is much less bother too, sits and waits for attention until I can be bothered with it and does it's job without ever complaining. biggrin :D
I SOOOOOOOOOOOO need a dishwasher. I think I must be going wrong somewhere, after all, I have 2 children rolleyes
Getting back to the topic though, I hate cleaning the corner that has my telly in it. I have a laminated floor, and with the cables that come out of the tv, video, dvd player and cable box, dust seems to collect and multiply there - and spiders like that :scared:

We've got the kids well trained for washing the dishes,no clean plates no dinner it's only fair they do their bit lol
I only have myself to blame really redface I usually find myself washing up as the food is cooking, because not only did the kids NOT wash up.... neither did I surprisedops:
