Emoticonography

OK - on this damp miserable day - a little bit of froth.
Does anybody else do the following?
1) Press an emoticon twice on the PM emoticon page before realising that you're posting on the Forum - or vice versa?
2) Think that they are using the wrong page but in fact, if they only knew it, they can't use either page because they're both timed out (this can waste an hour or two!)
3) Spend hours looking for an emoticon on either the PM or Forum emoticon page because you're more familiar with the layout of the other? (I find the PM emoticon positions quite counter-intuitive dunno

(I've just done 1. above putting that one in!!!! banghead

)
4) Wish that there were some more emoticons available (this is not a grumble - honestly - just a conversational piece to see if some are hankered after by anyone).
Personally, I'd like to see a :blush: emoticon because I'm very sensitive and lots of people make me flush up here innocent

- that and the redface

one implies you've done something you shouldn't have.
The other thing that would help is something that signifies yer joking a bit more explicitly than wink

. I see lots of people misunderstood even though they have signified humourous intent with it. Nothing too obvious though or we'll have the Basil Brush syndrome with crowds of people rushing around shouting :boom: :boom:!
Do you do these things and what other emoticons would you like to have at your disposal?

Think I'm a bit sad - I know some of the emoticons so type the word without having to click for them to appear in a post or PM.
I'd love to see a :quiver: emoticon.

I'm the same FB, I know most of the forum emoticons anyway and just type the code in! redface

i'd love a *quiver* one, a 'faiting'/passed out type falling over one lol

and the *evil laugh* one I've seen elsewhere that does ':lol: :dry: in one go :lol2:
Oh, and a 'jawdrop' or 'Ooooooo' to express/exclaim 'really?' or 'omg!' not just :shock:

Same here i type the ones i use often but i also think one page does all rather that different pages positions for pm and forum would be beter.
or
I do think a drop down list would be even better though like the font size and color ones

Now I'd like us to think of emoticonography as a metaphor here - symbolic of the intensive training courses we could put together.
Or to put it another way - you pick out the shagging emoticons and we'll work our way through 'em! wink

I don't use very many emoticons, and when I do, I suppose it's mainly because they are there, and also because other people do. But if they weren't there I don't think I'd miss them.
Dammit, if Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, etc. etc. managed without them, why can't we? rolleyes

I tend to type emotes by hand too. It takes too long to find the one I want.... lol
