When someone says Engineer do you think of Thomas the tank with Dumbo ears?

Saw this and thought it worthy of a poll. ;) lol Thanks Lost. kiss

bloody engineers ...(snipity snip)...

Awww Kaz But hey do you or anyone else think like I do and every time you see the word engineer you think of Thomas the tank engine with Dumbo the elephants ears? biggrin
So, when someone says "engineer" ....do you think about Thomas the tank engine with giant Dumbo elephant ears?
I deleted a duplicate thread Gem. kiss
Thanks! I think! lol
Although the third option of telling me what is thought of my poll is missing, but probably a good job really when I think about that one! Don't want to invite too much a stick beating on a Sunday morning/lunchtime. smile
Anyway... when someone says engineer to me I most definitely don't see flying children's toys with elephant ears, although I kind wish I did now it's been mentioned. I feel like my word association imagination gland is cheating me out of some lovely little amusing vision.
Engineer = oil, dirt, sawdust and the colour blue. And one of the few words where I get an associated smell triggered (grease / oil)
I don't see that either... :undecided:
My dad is an engineer so I guess that's my automatic thought when someone brings it up. I get the whole sawdust thing too... and weirdly I decided that I was gonna try filling Diggers' bed up with sawdust yesterday (instead of the posh stuff he's used to) and the smell just made me think of my dad too. Old greasy boilersuits with swarfega (sp), freshly cut wood and oil... its funny how smells seem to trigger memories for me more than anything else. Is everyone like that or is it just me?
Anyway... before I go off on a tangent, I don't get the elephant ears thing but it is Losty we're talking about! :giggle:

Seems a strange thread to me, although many words prompt thoughts of something different to their actual meaning.
Plim
What? Like 'vanilla'? :giggle:
Yes vanilla, when I hear that i just think of icecream or home made custard not people who dont swing
