Hand on heart I've never met a scot who wanted an english football team to win, but I've maet many englishmen who cheer for Scotland in past tournaments provided they are not playing enland. But all this is beside the point, the reality 'for me anyway, is I love football and I love England. So for me I want to believe England are tops no matter how good bad or indifferent they are. This is the fantasy,dream ,escapism, delusion, whatever one may call it, of what being a footy fan is all about. Its the kind of thing that turns men into little boys and makes so obsessed with football.
