Enhancing your relationship

Do you have little things that you do with your partner that will (hopefully) extend your relationship with them?
Feklar and I often have a bath together... there's something really relaxing about just laying back against his chest with his arms wrapped around me that feels so comforting and intimate. We've made a pact that we're going to have at least one bath a week together where we can just relax, be intimate and just spend time together.
Of course bathtime sometimes turns into playtime too.... take last night for instance... we were both in a bit of a silly playful mood and we discovered that my doh rae me dolphins were out of tune rolleyes

for those of you non-parents out there... doh rae me dolphins are a bath toy manufactured by tomy

Understand what your saying..... its the little things that make all the difference. We are always trying to do something for each other, something nice, not massive gestures just something personal that makes the other know sort of..
I like that one though, a nice bath together sounds lovely.

I love taking a bath with someone but my ex hated it sad

We used to have one evening a week thatw as all 'ours'. We'd go for a nice long walk in the woods holding hands, sit and watch a film while he rubbed my feet or even spend the evening on a relaxing massage with soothing music on in the background. Not necessarily ending in sex ( though it usually did :twisted: )
Fat lot of good all that did me though rolleyes

You're so right, it's the little things that mean the most.
We make sure that for one night a week ( and I know this may seem trivial or some already take it for granted being in that position ) by having a night on our own, where we just go with the flow, don't plan anything and do something spontaneous. It's the " alone " time without kids, phones, other people - where there only seems to be us there.

We like sitting water with the the stars up above, relaxing in hot water. Sometimes the water is to hot for anything sometimes it is cooler. Who cares what the satellites can see.

I made Timmy lie naked and snog me yesterday. lol

Sometimes when you've been together a while, little things like snogging sessions can slide on occassion, just the odd reminder can work wonders :twisted:
I'd never put anything like that into a set routine though, just in case it got stale and became a chore instead of fun.
Baths are different though wink

unfortunatly I like hot baths and timmy has them cool so it's very rare that we bathe together.
If anyone else has asbestos skin then they are more than welcome to have a splash :wink:

Last week I took off my knickers and stuffed them in Ians pockets before someone was coming round for coffee, I suppose that might count :rascal:
A couple of weeks ago I cut up some little hearts and put them in Ians wallet and he found them when he got to work dunno

We sometimes do showering together :rascal:
We both try and do little things every few weeks and I think most couples should. Specially when you have kids because once they leave home you have to be sure the relationship will work without kids pulling you together IMHO biggrin

I guess we're really lucky with the amount of time we get to spend together... my ex has the kids one night a week and occasionally will extend that further (although a little prior notice of that would be even better) so we do actually make the most of that time.
But it's the little things... the odd bunch of flowers when he's gone to work and I've been feeling a bit low that day, bringing me a cuppa in bed when he has to leave early to travel half way across the country for work, a hug and a kiss as soon as he comes in ... all on their own just little things that show how much he appreciates me but things that make me feel special and loved and wanted and that bring a smile to my face.

Ahhhhh another nice thread - I could get used to this! wink

My girlfriend and I have no children so we spend a lot of time together. Even after several years together we still do lots of things like bathing together, leaving cards, impromptu massages - you know the little intimate gestures that say so much!

I've found post it notes with mushy messages on stuck in his book about 5 pages after his bookmark guarantees a late night phonecall when he's working away from home :wink:

me & my bloke dont really do the physical enhancing stuff like sit together cuddled up and all that mush, we never have done... but, as daft as it sounds, every so often he'll come in the bathroom and wash my hair for me, and I feckin love that :inlove:
and sometimes while i'm sat on here, he'll massage my back & shoulders and we;ll read the threads before he goes to bed and leaves me to it, thats just how we are dunno

Sometimes I really embarrass him at work, cos most mornings I'll slap some sandwiches together, stick em in a food bag and he gets whatever our daughter's having for convenience - then every so often I'll make him something really flash (as sandwiches go) or his favorite, pack them in a tub with garnish & napkin and a little 'love you' note stuck in there somewhere and all the lads take the piss but he goes all pink and fluffy on me for days after rotflmao

some nigts on way back from work I'll nip to Tesco's and pick up something, a t shirt, box of cakes, a cd, whatever - then go overboard with gift ribbon and leave it on the kitchen side for him when he wakes up redface

, and last week when it was hot weather, i took him and the lads 80 ice pops out the freezer to work without phoning first, I am now Mrs Ice Pop Goddess pmsl lol

but like i say, we dont really do the handy-holdy- cuddly fluffy stuff, but what we do do works, for us! wink
