Hi all
Didnt think the subject would fit in the cafe so put it here but feel free to move it if you like mr/ms admin.
When organising a munch what kind of location do you look for? I still have my heart set on doing one even if it is not possible before other events take over later in the year. More importantly what locations should be avoided? At what point do you bring up the reason for your party if at all?
Any feed back welcome.
Cheers
Mr Tweeky
As this is more a question for discussion I think the cafe is a better place for it
What a great idea Mr Tweeky ! Put me down as first on the list hunni as you're not far from me at all kiss
I arranged a meet years ago ( though for 'normal' people not swingers :giggle: ) and I know it's bloody hard work. Big diff was we had ours in the daytime so had to keep the troops entertained with skating, bowling and the like. Ended up having 16 people staying the night at my house, mostly on the floors and sent them all packing with a huge cooked brekkie next morning
Good on you for doing it hunni and although I'm a few miles away, I'll help if you need any

On top of all the info I gave you previously, I would say do not even consider organising a Munch until you have been to one yourselves, wait till after the Bristol Munch then you can see what it entails, what a munch is actually like and that will give you a rough idea of the amount of work that is involved.
Most of all, dont underestimate how much time and effort you will have to put into it all. Just keeping lists upto date can take forever, doing hotel lists, name badges, arraning door people etc etc etc.
If you do decide to go ahead, then take advantage of any help that is offered, especially from people who have done them before, they know the pitfalls and the amount of organising which is involved.

same here hunni kiss
1) Go to one first! You will need to know what to expect, especially about dress, numbers, behaviour, badges etc.
2) A right-sized private room at a sensible price
3) Proximity to at least one sensibly priced hotel
4) A findable location - the simpler the directions the better!
5) Adequate car parking
I'd say organise just a small social in a local pub first before delving into the world of Munches.
Whatever happens at your munch, you are deemed responsible for. So if something goes wrong and it was lack of foresight, you're the ones held up for it, cos i'ts your munch. The site rules ahve to be complied with and I'd think twice about organising something with over 50 people there if youve not been on the site less than one year. The reason I say this... do you know who is asking you for an invite? Do you have to give personal details out like phone numbers? Will you trust the member to be sensible with this information?
If you still want to do a night out, I'm not saying munch because I think there are too many in a year already (yeah, stick in the mud I am! lol ;) ) , then make sure they have a current liability certificate, who pays for damages, who is holding the list, do you have a point of contact incase you dont know them, how many people does the place hold, is it private or public, have you seen it, what are the access times, is there any charge; if yes how will you cover this, will you cater and if so what are facilities, are drinks prices reasonable (£4 per pint of lager is NOT resonable), what dress codes will you implement, are there enough hotels nearby........ etc.
Sorry to be the harbinger of doom and gloom, but even with about 50 people on a social night out, you have to be on top of everything right from the beginning. Have the room booked before you post about it and the hotel PM written too. There is a lot to think about.
kiss Gem. x
I would honsetly say have a chat with people who have organised them before you delve into doing one yourself....
i am sure there will be various other munch organisors at bristol where we can give you our experiences..... smile
The biggest thing is that you don't nearly enjoy yourself at one you organise as much as one you just go to.... because of the worry and the pressure (not saying that i didn't enjoy myself at the ones i have organised).....
