I just wondered if anyone has had any interesting or amusing experiences contacting old schoolmates on Friends Reunited(FR). A good friend of mind met up again with her childhood sweetheart via FR (one was single, one was divorced, by the way), and they have now been together for three years.
I haven't met anyone, but one thing I have noticed is how many of my old schoolmates have put nicknmes that I can't remember them having, much less insulting names than they actually had. What you might call a sanitisation process!
Just in case anyone hasn't seen it, I'll reproduce the link Fred Flintstone gave us last year for the memorable FR posting that ground the whole site to a halt before it was pulled.

Well only been on there a couple of times looking for a friend of mine from years ago but still no luck - she seems to have disapeared off the face of the earth :cry:
My best friend however met her partner there - a guy who fell for her when she was at school, aged 14, and when he saw her on there got his daughter to email her and 3 years later really happy couple.......... she can't remember him from school however lol

A friend from school days who I had lost touch with, last heard of he was working in London. He contacted me, turns out that he lived literally within 1 mile from me. Strangly enough I had lived in several NE towns over the last 20 years and unknowingly he had been living in the exact same towns at roughly same time as me. Spooky or what

Just looked at Fred Flinstone's posting - she seems a little p***ed off but still comes across as a very articulate lady that I wouldn't want to meet on a dark night.. or perhaps..
I used FR a few years back - caught up with a few people and attended a reunion - met one bloke that is now a women (brave bugger confused everyone initially as we couldn't put a face to the name etc). The hooligans all seem to have calmed down and had wives and babies and even one girl that absolutely was Vicky Pollard (Little Britain - "Yeah but.. no but.. that Candice is a slag right...") seemed the have got rid of the frizzed out perm and shell suit a long time ago... one girl came onto me but freaked when I said I was bi.. still, my response of 'you used to be good looking... ' probably didn't help :shock:

Baz found an old school friend on FR, and strangely enough he lived in singapore which is where we were going to on the way to Australia 
so we met up with him and he did a guided tour , and have kept in touch ever since :o

I was adopted as a baby, but knowing my mothers name, age and with a good guess, I managed to find her on there and contacted her. It took me all of a couple of hours and was the best thing I ever did.
However, I did also manage to find my biological father after getting his name from my mum, tried contacting him and he simply removed himself from the website.
Ah well.. apparently he was a tosser anyway

PMSL@ the link! I did a similar thing when my X-hubby got caught out there but I had his account details and password. I posted on HIS profile that he was a complete bastard who had fucked off with a slag nurse and left his wife and two children He didn't find out for ages and I forgot until a work colleague of his looked his name up and discovered my rant :lol: :twisted:

Wwell I met up with an old school mate from via FR..he was a sound bloke at school. He arranged to visit us when he came north to see his parents and I spent the ensuing time convincing my wife that not all my mates were beer swilling, lazy drunks (like me!)..when he turned up he was all sharp suited and had an Italian sports car...I did too good a job on bulling him, because I caught him & my wife in the car park of the restaurant with his hand up her skirt and snogging each others faces off!!
I was a bit cheesed off to say the least but decided to put it down to drink and forgive them...well I had no choice in that matter..she ran off with him and lived happily ever after...wish I'd bullied the bugger at school now!!
