Terrorism rears its ugly head once more then.......
London has been expecting an attack for months...... MOD Int.... will be dealing with this and the hospitals and emergency services, plus armed forces will be called upon once more to keep the UK under control......

Bang goes my holiday then.........

You know...we got "use" to living with these sort of explosions in South Africa and the Middle East. Somehow I've never managed to become that blase' about it though confused
Can't find the word I'm looking for.... Just doesn't sit right.
Cant say i had to many experiences of bombs in south africa when i was living there ?
Then you were lucky, appreciate it.
Remember the Magoo's bomb...kinda crap end to a nightout that one.
And the bomb in the basement in OK bazaars?
And the mall in Jo'burg the name of which I forget.

Agreed, I wish you all well. Time for level heads and rational thinking.
Don't think you know something until you know you know it. Know what I mean?

you know that fabio has to be once of the most genuinly nice guys on here, and i'm not saying that i'm sure anyone else who knows him will agree lol
My Sympathies also lie with anyone with friends or family in the area who hasn't heard from them or is involved themselves. I had a tense few minutes this morning too until I heard back from everyone, have a very good mate who missed it going right past/through one of the blast areas and just had an extended journey time and my dad works just round the corner from Liverpool St.
Texting can sometimes get through easier than trying to call by the way, doesn't need a connection/spare bandwidth on the phone network for as long. Remember people might have their phones off/have run out of battery though if they've already had lots of calls, so don't panic unduly if you don't get a reply for a while.
I'm starting a new job in the city in a week and a bit - makes me a little nervous, hope this is a one-off.
Birmingham is now on red alert
4 confirmed explosions at 3 stations and 1 bus bomb outside a station
All our thoughts are with them all x
New here, but should have been at work in Liverpool Street this morning were it not for my kids sports day today. Just want to extend my sympathy, thoughts and love to all those that have had or don't know of friends, relatives and loved one involved or in the area.
Been on the phone all morning and now finally got the last text back so I count myself blessed for that, but makes me feel more for those that have not yet got closulre.
Went through the same at Setp 11 with school friends should have been in the towers but were not that day.
Hope that we all see this for what it is, a cowardly act against innocent people, a majority of which did not condone whatever actions have warrented such a reaction.
Peace and love to all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those that are still waiting to hear news and those that have already heard bad news......
My Mum has found and chatted to all.................... they are all fine ........... shaken but fine !!

Just wanted to say I'm OK to all who have texted me. Couldn't reply by text because all the mobile networks are jammed.
Those of you who know what I do for a living will understand why this message is brief, I have to get back to it now. Speak to you later

I hope I'm misunderstanding your sentiments there Steve & SX?
What I meant was that the wind has been sown "on our behalf" in Afghanistan, Palestine and Iraq and that's just in the last three years. Unfortunately Britain has a long history of imposing alleged "democracy and civilisation" where alot of people don't want it - result: what's happening in London now.
That's my understanding of what's happening, not a justification for anything, ok?

There is NO excuse whatsoever for terrorism designed to cause death on a general population...

And also no excuse for inciting racial hatred... Are you TRYING to close down this site or what??

i agree, all because there are a few bad people in a country does not mean that everyone of that country have the same beliefs and agree with what they are doing, there are good and bad in all of us
Just found out my Brother-in-Law is safe @ Baker St waiting for a lift back to my parents. He was the last to be accounted for. My sister works opposite the US Embassy, my brother is an inspector in RSPCA, and has a works van, my sister is a PC in Transport Police - but my bro confirmed that she was safe. My dad is a minicab driver, but works nights - so he would have been tucked up in bed at the time. For me and my family the worries are over - I only wished every other family could say that by now

I agree there can never be an excuse for terrorism but war waged in whatever name is a form of terrorism whether it is commited by a national army or small groups. It is a sad fact which we never learn from that violence just breeds more violence.
And my concern that race relations in this country could be damaged by this outrage seems to be correct by such statments. Its one time I hope I am wrong and everybody stays calm.
my thoughts go out to any body that has people there involved, its a terrible thing that nobody should have to go through, i have an ex working there and have no way of getting in touch to check she is ok
can you save the arguments about terrorism for another time... to be honest i don't think now is the time to be doing it.... thank you...
another good idea is for people to maybe consider giving blood....
apparently they don't need any today, but in the next couple of days they may a fair bit....
their number is .... they will tell you the closest place to give blood....
