Is it all worth it?
Just got my adult kids together for a family meal, with me and their step Dad......sort of pre the one on the day one!(as they are with their father at that time)
What a waste of time!
Took me 3 hours in total, the eldest had already eaten, and just wanted to run off to her boyfriends house.
The middle one, ate all , but never spoke once!
The youngest, at least she appreciated it!!
Just sounding off really.......
but sometimes I wonder.........
is it all worth it???

Nope... not just you!
Hence the reason I'm going away for Christmas this year! :bounce:
Love my family but I can't bear it again! :giggle:

Love my family, but I'm so glad they all live 12,000 miles away and none of us 'do' Christmas. Hurrah for a day of feeling smug and relaxed out on the hills while everyone else is stressing over sprouts. biggrin

I'm personally dreading the sat after boxing day when we all go to my mums for a family get together :scared:
Every single year there is a massive arguement over nothing  sibling rivalry I'm afraid. My two sisters are constantly competing for attention & to be better than everyone else. They even go out & buy the most expensive outfit to look better than everyone else. For me, I wear my jeans & keep out of it. Its not nice for the kids though or for my mum who goes out of her way to make a lovely meal. Oh my, I'm getting thoughs horrible butterflies in my stomach now
Glad its once a year

I think we've only had one fallout at Christmas time, between my Mum and myself, but I'd been nitpicked and goaded for weeks and it just came to a head. I was also suffering from depression looking back.
Didn't last long but killed the mood somewhat.
Other than that we have lovely Christmasses biggrin

thats what it is all about hun. I thought my sisters would change after my dad passed away however its just the same as ever. It just puts more strain on my mum now she's on her own.
I'm going to offer to have the family over next year & warnings WILL go out. Signs on the dor will be : Menopausal women in the kitchen & mid life crisis men in the shed!!! rotflmao

Either that or buy everyone a pair of dowdy pyjamas to wear and make everyone change when they come in, that way they can't complete on clothes ;)

Only person in my family that causes arguments is my niece.
This year we will be swapping pressies, with my family,on Xmas eve, then for the first time since moving in together, it will just be me, Mollman and our daughter Christmas day morning. Afterwards we are going to his Mum and Dads for dinner and to have a lovely relaxed day. Not a stroppy teenager in sight. biggrin
Merry Christmas to one and all.
