This is a thread to run along side the BOOK TO FILM thread.
With so many duff versions of books being adapted for the screen, could you do better? If you had a limitless budget what book/game/etc would you like to make into a film?
My favourite a moment is the thought of Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell being given the full BBC costume drama works.
I'd also like to see a live action version of Captain Scarlet. As long as it kept faith with the very dark origins of the original puppet series.
Ive always been very impressed by Peter Ackroyd's Hawksmoor...
an absolutely fantastic book for its dark atmosphere, and two-timeline story..
Im sure that would translate well to screen if handled carefully, without losing its soul to hollywood glamour, and the ubiquitous *love interest*
blimey!... did I say "ubiquitous*?... strooth, bet it aint spelt right though

David Eddings's Belgariad and Mallorean.
I love those books....................but I don't think there would be enough money in the world to do them justice
Any one of the Eternal Champion series by Michael Moorcock would be good but I'd really love to see Hawkmoon on film or another favourite of mine by him, Warhound and the World's Pain

not really fantasy books but i do like an offbeat crime novel and in my humble opinion the janet evanovich / stephanie plum books would make gr8 movies or TV
