Just listening to a music channel thats showing show songs and got me thinking of the very few shows ive seen, some ive loved some i walked out on in the interval, some id love to see just because I love the song
Les Miserable x2 – LOVEDDDDDD
Lion King – Fab costumes
Grease x2 – totally cheesy, but great
Guys & Dolls- walked out in the interval, was that bad
42nd Street – terrible, but stayed because it was my 1st
Joseph
Theres been a couple more but cant think
would love to see
Chicago
Phantom
Evita
Whats your favourite show or what show would you like to see ? xj
Ooooh, love a good musical me!!
Les Miserables - Amaaaaaazing! Sad to say have seen it twice, and have the CD and know lots of the words and can still cry at the sad bits if am in a hormonal mood. But, in my defence, I have also read the book (not in the original French, I am neither that pretentious nor clever!!)
Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, Joseph... in fact, I've seen a fair few in my time.
Les Mis definitely the best though, in my opinion.
I'd like to see Cabaret and Chicago.
Nola x
ohhhh Les Mis is definitely my favourite smile think I've seen it 9 times now.......not seen it for years actually so think I'm due for another trip. I especially love it when they manage to find a kid to play Gavroche (sp).
Just the other night I had a house guest over who had never been to a musical  So I did a bit of a one man re-enactment of Les Mis with the help of the CD, the piano and me probably scaring the neighbours with my singing :lol2: It was a giggle if nothing else smile

we got dragged to an opera once in some German castle when I was on a school exchange... after being fairly traumatised by the bats flying around (open air atmospheric stuff, apparently) I promptly fell asleep. Never been to an opera since.
But give me a good show tune any day!!!

deffo agrea, saw it twice n would go n see it again, lovedddddd it xxj
Fabio ..don't worry mate I am also a male lover of musicals and proud to be so too.
Have seen Les Mis twice at the theatre and did have the video and CD of the 10 year commemorative special which was memorable for all the Valjeans from all over the world that came on and sang at the end .A fabulous show with wall to wall brilliant out of 10 for the set as well that transforms itself midway from a town scene to a barricade in a mind boggling fashion.
Went to see The Lion King and was left breathless by simple but oh so effective portrayal of opening parade on to the stage was just awe inspiring. Again fabulous music sung sensationally.
Also seen Cats(my first),Jesus(fell in love with Selena Duncan who played Mary...what a voice),Joseph and Phantom (was a little disappointed by Phantom as I didn't think it had the overall strength of score).
Thanks so much for this thread ...it's about time I went to another musical any suggestions??
Posh Kate if you want a choir to back your singing ...I'll volunteer ...Reeeeeeeeeddddddddd ...the blood of angry mennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ....blackkkkkkkk(ok I'lll shut up now) lol
Friends took me to see Mama Mia, Miss Saigon (brill)......
I do want to see War of the Worlds.... missed it in the uk and Australia! grrrrrrrrr dates didnt suit me!!
Anyone seen it? smile
Musicals aren't my thing at all.
But, I have been to see Billy Elliot 4 times. I absolutely love it. The music (written by Elton John), the amasing story, the incredible dancing, the sets are fantastic.
I have the CD and I hope that they release the musical onto a DVD as the film is too different.
It is one of the few reasons I will venture into the big smoke.
Splendid
well. in my youth...(last yearish innocent )..i used to be a dancer..and so appeared in a number of touring musicalls.....and so love a good musical.
Chigago..is my favorite really...the women look fantastic in the outfits..and some great songs and dances.
Second favorite has to be Oklohoma... such a big show ..with big songs..and the dances in the dream scene are wonderful..and very difficult..trust me ..I know.
ofcause no one yet metioned The Rocky Horror Show. I bit tired these days i have to say..but still a great story, great songs and dances...I did see the last ever west end show with Tim Curry as Fank N Furter and now if i ever see it...it just doesn't compere.
Couple of shows to see if you like music..and don't want anything to heavy are
Return to the Forbidden Planet
great show...with songs from the 60's.
Hairspray
which is currently running in west end....and is very catching with a good strong political message as well
Little Shop Of Horrors.
Not unlike hairspray really..great songs ..funny...and just total foot tapping stuff.

oh my god... I can't believe I forgot "Return to the Forbidden Planet".....the first Musical I ever saw!!!! in one day we did that in the afternoon... followed by "5 guys named mo" in the evening....and absolutely brilliant day out
little shop of horrors is brill as well... still have the DVD of it here somewhere.... I think I will watch that this afternoon......
I am sure one of my "best friends" will be along later to sing the praises of Rocky Horror later when she sees the thread.... the one thing i learnt about her is that she absolutely loves it!!!!!
The music -tosh!
Now a good Opera on the other hand…….
Have seen quite a few shows in
London but I have to say one of my favourites was
The Blue Man Group. was very funny and a lot of audience participation.
vagina monologues is my absolute favourite.
I also enjoyed Stomp.
I have been to see a few comedians too.
In fact next to the cinema the Theatre is my first choice for a night out.
splendid
I have seen a few musicals but it isn't my favourite art form. I am off to see The Lord of the Rings musical in a couple of weeks though but that is because I am a Tolkien geek.
