Go on a volounteering holiday, I know it sounds naff, but you get involved with projects you would never have thought off yoursef and you get fed and if you pick the right one theres absolutly no cost! (its hard work though) Just a suggestion! (I went dry stone walling, made some great friends) Dave

The National Trust is a good starting block, but there are loads of others to try! Like I mentioned earlier some are free or very very low cost like £50 for the week including bed and meals I will look and see if I can find any links and PM them if i do unless others are interested?

You can make friends out of stone??? :? :? :? :? :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Blimey Chadders, can't you just be like us normal folk and stick with the imaginary ones?
I did see on "Departure Lounge" on BBC1, a peice on people voluntering to help to rebuild PiPi, one of the towns destroyed in the Tsunami on Boxing day. You do have to make your own way there and pay for your own accomodation (approx £14 a night for basic digs), but they said that it is a very worthwhile experience.
