Femidoms - anyone care to share their experiences?

Ok, I don't think this has been done (at least a search for 'femidom' produces two results, neither particularly relevant), but has anyone on here ever used a femidom, and if they have what's their opinion?
I've seen one once, when I was training as a pharmacy tech we were obliged to be aware of their existence, but as I didn't work in retail pharmacy I never came across them again (not a lot of recreational sex amongst hospital patients). The only thing Mrs. DP could add was that an acquaintance of hers had described them as 'like shagging a bin bag', mainly due to the sounds produced.
Why do you ask these weird questions about obscure contraceptive devices? I hear you cry. Well, without wishing to turn this into a thread on the dreaded topic of C@#! S!#@, I've been browsing the 'net in search of condoms for the wider man, so as to speak, and they came up as one suggestion.
So, your thoughts are welcome.

Never used them but there are many condoms now that come in larger and wider size's avanti do a larger size i used to buy them all the time but i have just found some called 'pasante' that are 'large wide fit' and i got them from the bloody pound shop can you believe for a box of 12! so i though for that price i'd give them a go :shock: they have proved to be very good and quite expensive from boots so all you big boys out there don't need to 'shag a bin bag' just shop about :wink:

I have used them several times when meeting with a guy who was around 11" and found condoms too tight to wear.
I found them fiddly and difficult to use the first time, but soon got used to them.
Yes they do slip around if you don't fit them correctly, yes, they can be embarrassing trying to get them to stay in place, but once you've mastered their use they don't cause a problem.
Certainly I didn't get any strange noises from them :shock: not any complaints about them from the guy in question.
They are not cheap at around for two, but if normal condoms are not an option for whatever reason I think they are worth at least trying wink

Well I've tried Avanti (ok but a bit tight redface

), and I did find a very cheap source of Condomi XXL, but they're only really useful for blokes who get a lot wider at the bell end, if you're about the same width all the way down they feel like a tourniquet :cry:
I've even started reading the small print, though that isn't helped by different places quoting either circumference or diameter - I object to getting my calculator out to work out if I'm going to be able to fit my knob into a bag of latex/polyurethane/nitrile. :lol:
Incidentally, I wouldn't have classed my bits as anything out of the ordinary just by looking at them (maybe I just haven't seen enough to compare, but you'd have thought seven years at a boy's grammar school would have provided plenty of opportunities for comparison). Looking at the range of condoms available though, it seems that you don't have to go very far ouside of 'average' before you're a niche market.
I'll have to have a look at the Pasante ones, though IIRC they're about the same size as the Condomi XXL - if they stretch better though or don't get narrower at the base, they might well be a solution.

Well I'm certainly nowhere near 11" in any dimension (thank god, if I did have that between my legs I'd probably pass out every time I walked past a cute bum lol

Best price in a brief look on the 'net was 3 for Expensive, but a lot better that 2 for Â£7 (and they got cheaper in bulk). Looking at Wikipedia a little while ago found reports of a slightly different competitor product to the original femidom (evidently the patent's expired), as well as a redesign of the original in the near future.
I think I might be exagerating the problem somewhat if I gave the suggestion that I couldn't use normal condoms - at a push I can get regular fit ones one, but they're a tad uncomfortable, take a lot of effort (and stretching) to get on - which I'm not entirely happy about due to the risk of damage to the condom (and possibly my knob), and probably as a consquence of the first two it's a touch tricky maintaining a suitable stiffy at times (ok if it all goes to plan, but have you ever tried to solve delicate engineering problems whilst maintaining a workable erection?)
Oh, and according to Wikipedia, using lube inside a femidom is the way to avoid bin bag noises or it being driven inside the vagina. One for Take A Break's Top Tips section methinks. :twisted:

As far as I'm concerned it's pretty average, both when compared to a ruler and in proportion to the rest of me, however experience would suggest that it's a bit thicker than most condom makers would consider normal. I've no idea if that's particularly common, if anyone considers it particularly useful/attractive, or if I am in fact some kind of freak. confused

Given the amount of hassle it's caused me over the years, I'd quite happily be average, but since I doubt any bloke on the planet has ever asked for a penis reduction I'm stuck with it, so I might as well work around the issue as best I can. smile

I'll try, but further to my comment about engineering problems, maintaining wood whilst wrestling with my steel rule (complete with graduations, though calipers would be more accurate) is also quite tricky. I'd ask Mrs. DP to assist but she's gone to bed with a cold and I don't want to disturb her. sad

To give you some idea, Durex Avanti are 64mm in diameter and are a tight fit, but they're non-latex and so don't stretch to any appreciable degree. Condomi XXL are about 66-67mm in diameter at the widest part, and they fit ok at that point, so I'd guess it's around 67mm in average diameter, plus or minus a couple of mm.

but why on earth do they measure in diameter ffs???? surely circumference is easier to ascertain?????

Some places do quote sizes in circumference (including one I found importing a range of German condoms that would definitely have one big enough for me, only problem being that they're also very thick and quite pricey).

Never had sex using a femidom but i often find they are marvellous in an emergency when your bag of crisps burst, and thats the only reason i always carry one with me at all times.

Of course, this is why I have to ask these questions - I've heard plenty of jokes and smart comments about femidoms but very little in the way of concrete information.
