Ooooooo Tan, I was shown the multi-storey that was used in Get Carter, the other week when I was up there.
The school scenes from the film Millions were filmed in my kids school, just before we moved them there....using some of the kids as cameo roles too!
Various bits of Two Pints of Lager and a packet of crisps were filmed in and around the borough, and also the (now axed) series Mersey Beat was filmed here.
My olds live just down the road from where Darling Buds of May was filmed. Never saw them though.

The original 'Canterbury Tale' was unsurprisingly shot in and around Canterbury soon after World War II, when a lot of the buildings were still rubble and vast areas were wasteland. Some of the scenes were also shot in the next village to us as the pub there was deemed to be the quintessential representative of the period they were trying to convey. One of my neighbours was an extra in the film as he was a Canterbury Cathedral choir boy at the time and they were all asked to participate. He contracted polio the next year and has a wasted leg, but still managed to marry twice and produce 7 children.

It's on TV here, too. Started at 9, and hubby just piped up "he doesn't half sound like Tom Hanks."

as a kid I remember watching an italian movie (with subtitles) on the dutch television...where a very famous (in italy) singer was standing on a "landmark/postcard" wooden bridge in amsterdam and singing away
nothing strange, you'll say..
the thing is, I'm half italian and half dutch.. my italian father, at the time, lived in an appartment facing said bridge, and I was watching the movie on the dutch television, whilst sitting in the living room of his appartment.. it felt weird at the time, so much that I still recall the episode.
At the top of our street we have some dis-used factories I think they are. I've never actually been up there, but they have been filming that Robson Green programme there. I couldn't believe it when I heard! They've also done other scenes round here, cos I'd heard from a fellow swinger they had a road blocked off near us.
While at Scarbrough last year or the year before (I know it's miles away but it gets better biggrin ) we saw what looked like a film crew near this harbour. So went over for a neb and they were! :bounce: We were there for an hour watching them, along with other people, and only did 2 or 3 takes, most of the rest of the time they were sitting around talking lol
In edit: I forgot to mention they were filming The Royal
