My parents decided it would be a great idea to get the kids cabin beds for christmas,Great we thought as it meant that we didnt have to fork out for some(were tight like that you see lol )
So they got delivered yesterday at 4pm,so we set about doing the one for our youngest, metal frame and simple instructions and we had it done in an hour
So we set about doing the one for our eldest, much larger typical wooden cabin bed,so Steve gets started and i go sort the kids rolleyes Every time i pop back upstairs it doesnt look any different
Eventually after 3 long bloody hours work its complete,HOORAY its bloody finished biggrin :D :D
So we go to get the matress put it on and low and behold its too fecking big mad :x :x :x
So we spent all that time rushing to get it done and the fecking ,matress doesnt bloody fit  :x :x :x
Why cant they come up with something better is what i wanna know confused: :?: :?:
IKEA?
Their beds are a bit odd, they are designed for matresses that have slightly different dimensions to, err, ours.
I had a similar problem with the bed I got a year ago. Except my matress is a touch too small.

he isnt that rich for nothing, ie now you have to buy one of there matresses!
normally when I buy anything flat pack half the screws or some part is missing, which then delays the 'putting together' bit for ages, whilst you explain to the shop which bit it is you want and wait ages while they go to find it.
Your first mistake was to even look at the instructions.
lol
Just make it as you go along!!
We got ours little 'un a cabin bed and his original matress was far to big.
Oh and you think the Ikea stuff is bad.... try bloody MFI stuff. It's crap. evil

I have to admit I am no fan of Ikea or MFI either!
But recently we have got some stuff from homebase - not only were the instructions spot on - they were in english (not some wierd chinese or japanese pidgeon english).
There were spares or every fitting (cams, screws etc)

No good for me - my evening classes in 'Flatpack' would be wasted!
Well, I'm a sad bastard, all my furniture bar my sofa and desk are from IKEA! lol
But that's because it all needed to be bought at short notice last year when I moved in here (from furnished place to unfurnished).
Oh, and I had no problems putting it together. Well, other than the bed, and that was a real pain doing that heavy bastard on my own  Never a woman around to help when you need one.
I've had flatpacks from Ikea and MFi, and IMHO Ikea are far better. In fact, I have a half built desk (from MFI) and a sideboard (still in the box, also from MFI) that I just can't face tackling because they're sooooooo complicated!!
And yet I got a 6 drawer chest of drawers from Ikea that I built single handedly in the space of a couple of hours!
They werent from Ikea, they were from a local bed shop!
but why make the matressess different sizes FFS mad :x :x
Luckily yesterday we managed to get one the right size so eldest daughter was well chuffed biggrin
Your mistake was leaving a man in charge, men and flat packs dont mix, its theiir brains, not logical enough!!
