According to an article in the Sun newspaper today , "scientists" think our noses can affect our sexual orientation ! seems certain smells can trigger hormone resposes, did anyone else read this article today and whats your thoughts ?
What's "The Sun?"
Is it something like a comic, but not as witty?
Mal
wink
If its the same one as was on a while ago,or maybe the metro, then it's about how gay men prefer the smell of other gay men and of straight women, but straight men only prefer the smell of women.
If it's not then just ignore everything.
I'm too tired to read anything more than a few sentences
Also, is there a link to the website for the story?
Doesnt this have something to do with natural pheromone's we produce. Just like in the animal kingdom.. or are we talking about something different?
Found the article your on about at It is to do with Pheromone's though it doesnt go into any scientific details, which is typical of the Sun.
Follow this think for a more in-deph explantion
re hash of old story
Looking at "the Monell chemical senses centre Dr Charles Wysocki " the original source of the article, the theory seems to have a point . Maybe physical attraction is not all, smell is a sense, sexual orientation, who we ultimately find attractive , why people "swing " even could be more biological than we think.
In the sun article," Gay men prefered the smell of gay men and hetrosexual women , Hetrosexual men AND women AND lesbians disliked the smell of gay men! but the hormones in male sweat (pheromones) stimulates gay men and hetrosexual women in exactly the same way !
Smell is one of our most important senses. It tells us things subconciously. Also, smell is the longest retained memory we have.
By which I mean, if you smell something that 'reminds' you of something, but you cannot place that 'something' it is probably bacause it is a scent from your earliest years. Like a long forgotten cigarette odour from your grandfather or somesuch.
