Free member roll call

It has been asked a few times in another thread how many free members are using SH. By free we mean members who joined before the site was taken over in 2005 do not pay a fee and get full site access minus the extras package. This thread will of course only account for members who use/observe the forum and not even all of those. Some members will not post some will object and various other reasons. Discounting all of those issues though lets see how many we can get and I'll be good enough to keep a list in the thread if the thread gets anywhere biggrin

I think you may be better off starting a knitting circle than a mailing circle :grin:

That would be of interest ! I know of members who have "flounced" been banned or simply closed their accounts and then changed their minds and come back as paying members cos they think the site is so good.

That would be interesting to know, truth of the matter is that we don't have any way to track that, although it is positive that some come back and even have second accounts because they like the site smile

Apologies for the hijack Tweeky, although you will never get all those that have the free acounts posting in here, but some are fond of extrapolating figures so who knows, number posting in here divided by number of people posting in the forum may give some sort of ratio, also on the plus side maybe we will see some regs that still visit but don't post chip in, be nice to hear from them, I know a lot still read the forums but don't post any more.

Nope, most weren't logged before we took over, even after we did the table got so big we had to trim it down, I did say interesting but not interesting to the extent that we would be writing code to find out, we do have stats that we look at, that isn't one of them, to be honest, I think I shouldn't have posted in here to start with as its not on topic, if you want any more replies either pm me or start anew thread.
