My feelings on the basic right of free speech might be controversial, but here goes.
I believe that in an open and public forum, everyone should be able to say what they like. I just hate censorship full stop. People get offended by all manour of things, but at the end of the day its only words, remember the old saying about sticks and stones. At this moment in time the ost controversial topics are about sexual orientation, religion, race, and even football. OK it is rule of thumb that these are subjects down the pub as a fight could break out. But this is just the internet. My attitude is simple. If someone makes a post that offends, then it is down to those who disagree to defend themselves or their friends. We are adults, we should neither want or expect to be babysat.
Controversy is the reason for most ofensive posts anyway, these people like being banned and deleted, they wear it like a badge of honour. Best they are told to feck off by the membership than deleted by moderators, this holds no esteam for them.
I do apolgise for any spelling or typos errors here, I am drinking which is why I'm going so deep. But I really think I have a point.

Sorry Brighton Geezer, I can't agree with you. The fact that this is an internet forum doesn't mean it should be a free for all where people are allowed to be rude, abusive or agressive just because we can't see each other. People's feelings don't disappear because they're not conversing face to face. Would you be happy for a complete stranger to approach your Girlfriend/Boyfriend in the street and proceed to tell them that their hair or clothes look crap, that they need to lose weight or what are they doing with you? I bet not but it's an open and public forum where they should say what they like according to your post.

Applying this to SH, this is a swingers forum, for people to talk (mainly) about sexual topics and to have general chat. And to allow people to say whatever they like would leave SH as a place full of argumentative gits as all the people who aren't confrontational or who simply don't want to get involved in aggressive discussion would go elsewhere.........and the ones left wouldn't be able to swing as they'd be too busy writing their next put down.
Freedom of speech gives everyone the right to express an opinion (see above!), but it doesn't give anyone carte blanche to make comments on the internet that wouldn't be acceptable in any other social environment. Should I be able to call you names because I disagree with you? No!
