since re'tuning on weds my freeview has all but packed up
checked eveything and problem busters on the nett but nothing rolleyes
I am beginning to wonder if this isnt another ploy by the manufacturers to get you to buy / update equipment ?
Looks like i may have to get an ariel guy in to check the system ? dont suppose by any slim chance there are any on sh who live in Leicestershire ? biggrin
trav .. looking at the wall
no worries here
lp
Nope, retuned perfectly.
The advice I heard if problems was to do it again. dunno
We have 4 freeview boxes in the house and none of them work - mainly because Coventry is crap for signals anyway. Unless you get an ariel that's over 20 feet tall and stick it on the top of your house, you've got no chance....rolleyes
So much for the Government/whoever is running the thing promising equal coverage in the UK eh?
in cornwall we were one of the first that experienced the switch over.
prior to the switchover my free view in the bedroom worked perfectly, very clear picture.
( except when one of those irritating little fecking 50cc goes past)
since the switch the picture is worse then the analoge used to be. ive re tuned lots of times but still crappy picture now.
i heard a lot of people say they had to buy new boxes as some of the ones per switch over are not compatible since the switch?? dunno why.
seems unfair that there is no option other than not to watch at all, its freeview and teh expense of ariels, boxes etc and still the same tv licence, or go with sky etc and yet stilllll pay the tv licence.
going to send gordon a balaclava for christmas.
xx fem xx
ya pays for what ya get........... rolleyes
we are leicestershire and all of ours are ok !
had a few problems with ours at first with channels muddled etc, although after doing a full reset rather just the adding new channels option all is well biggrin
It would seem after having a chat with an ariel guy that its my ariel that needs upgrading :P
so of to the mr ariel shop tomoz to sort one out .
trav..
My set top box retuned OK but the channels are in a random order to say the least.
fitted the new ariel today myself from argos on special offer
its an absolute blinder but has been said all the remote out of sequence ???? rolleyes
but it works thats the thing and so easy to fit ..
freeview blitz tonight ( sad arent I )
trav..
Its down to the size of the Network Information Table space allocation in your box - Manufacturers could never forsee the changes happening so rapidly so cannot be blamed. The new NIT is larger and so some boxes cannot cope. Lists of affected TV's and boxes are freely available on the net. If yours is not on there email the manufacturer as there may be a firmware update required - otherwise, sorry its scrap.
If you need a list - some are here

and the list is a .pdf link
retuned ours ok and seems to have improved signal.
