Thought I'd share an experience from a few years ago that has stayed with me for 'ever' - as you know Northern Ireland has had it's fair share of trouble over the years and one result of this was that up to around 4-5 years ago you were subject to the chance of being stopped in your car at any time (day or night) on any road, main or secondary, for 'routine searches' by mobile Vehicle Check Points (VCPs).
Some years ago when I was a local Northern Ireland DJ I drove one of those wonderful MG Midget sports cars (no sahgging wagons but great 'scene setters). One evening I was driving one of my lady friends back home for some fun after a gig and of course she didn't want to wait so long.
