I've been trying this rather funky app out for a while now and thought it might be fun to play a game with this program.
Rules of the game are:
I will post a location and the first person to post a pic of that location gets to choose the next location to search for.
OK, so the first location is...
The Taj Mahal
EDIT: Strike the Taj Mahal, India isn't done in high res pics yet.
The new target is: Buckingham Palace.
My choice is close to home, for me...
Glastonbury Tor.
ok, if anyone can even show me how to post pis would be happy :P
BUT, the new target area is ..................................
K2..........in china
Actually, Colts, that was not a pic of the Tor, but a pic from the Tor. And unless you have a valid excuse as to why not... you should be using Google Earth, like Flappy posted.
To post an image, paste your url then put tags round the url.
Colts.
Go to the link in my original post and install Google Earth. If you have a Mac, you can use as it uses the same server.
And K2 is in Pakistan, not China.
EDIT: And here it is:
I've been playing with this today, to bad alot of places in england aren't in Hi-Res yet, did find a friend in London's actual house though.
well, for once i can use the word "awesome" in its proper context.... because that is one awesome site!
I'm going to be using that a lot i think... especially for travel directions as you can actually see where you are meant to be going.... right up to the point of my parents car outside their house!
AND... then you can flip it sideways and zoom like a fighter pilot across the UK.. into france and pretend to bomb the froggies (and make whistling and exploding noises) .... it just doesn't get any better!!!
One of the best links i have ever seen... now have it installed on my computer desktop... thanks flapjackboy...
Yes ,tried it for the first time yesterday
interesting to play with ,,but unless your a bit of a trainspotter its got a limited shelf life of enjoyment
