on the price of football yes as a form of family entertainment it can be an expensive day /evening out but can also be very enjoyable i still get the same tingle down my spin as i did the 1st time i went to old trafford 27 yrs ago
all i can say for tomorrow as a proud man utd fan( i live within 6 miles of the ground so no jokes about the trip up from london) i hope we can turn our season on and narrow the gap

Firstly 5-0 even I have to say thats unlikley but who knows?
Arsenal win the champions league think theres more chance of wolves getting promoted and finishing in the top half of the premiership next season....
What I will say is that in a game of this magnitude anything can happen, form goes out of the window and at the end of the day I think the team to win will be the team who wants it the most.
Old Trafford is not quite the fortress it once was but it is still a formidable place to visit and Im sure this will put even the mighty arsenal at a disadvantage.

Man Utd are a bunch of whining ponces, always whinging if some decision or other doesn't go their way... so I think you are mistaking passion for petulance (especially Roy 'Gypo' Keane).... And Arsene Weneger a shit manager! Come on, you must be dreaming! He may well go within five years as that's the way football goes... but he's uber-professional... you never hear of him throwing his toys (or boots) out of the pram like Fergie... and can you imagine Wenger pissing off one of his best players so much that he has to leave , and then selling him to you main Champions League rivals? Not exactly the greatest tactical decision!
Anyway, I reckon there'll be goals aplenty this arvo, and all for the Gooners!

Only because I have a historical personal association with ManU Clare - doesn't mean I have to like watching the game does it?
I also said it was laughable how people get so worked up. Not laughable that they enjoyed football.
The strong feeling over football team can get quite out of control too and nasty too.
My feeling is that you can enjoy something and maybe support a team - but surely not slag other teams off - for god's sake it is only a game at the end of the say - hardly life or death is it? What the hell does it matter who wins really - the emphasis should be on talent, fair play and gamesmanship.
I can get worked up over unfairness in life - but not over a football team.

When it comes to Man Utd and Arsenal its always gonna be an amount of slagging off,they are big rivals!!And it wasnt so much slagging off and putting across a point of view.
This thread is about a particular game so it does matter who wins the game,thats the whole point.
No it isnt life or death,it is a game,but people are allowed to get passionate about the things that they enjoy and have a bit of a lively dig at each other,nothing wrong with that.

I didn't slag anyone off at all for ENJOYING the game or for anything else Clare.
It is the getting worked up about it which I commented on. Almost fanatiscm.
I work in an office which is predominant men - so I get this every day.

So how come people are getting upset about it? It's just a game that has somehow assumed a position of unreasonable importance in some people's minds, and the rivalry between people who even play the game has me completely baffled.

I enjoy watching (and playing on rare occasions) footie but wish it was like the days of Busbies Babes, and not like it is today, its all about sponsorship, transfers, wages and takeovers, and not so much about the skills or fun of family football.
Having said that, i think Man U 2-0 .....
I have to say Man U cos my best m8 has brainwashed my 3 yr old son into supporting Man U, even to the extent that he took him to Old Trafford on his 3rd birthday (yes the actual day) and bought him the new strip! Bless them both, they are both mad in the head and adore each other!
