I am very much into a whole slew of hobbies and apsstimes that usually guarantee 'you will never get laid.'
I like comics, and sci-fi, and Lord of the Rings, and I roleplay.
But I also shower.
So, tell me - I know that all of these things are associated with losers and the comic-book guy from The Simpsons...
Does enjoying geeky things automatically make a person less likely to get laid, or what?

See, thing is, I enjoy stereotypes tremendously, and then refuse to fit in with them. This makes me sad - I actually do spend my sundays running games for friends, and I do read comics and enjoy sci-fi... and I find it funny that the stereotype for guys like me doesn't actually fit the people.. I was being silly in a way but was also seeing if there were other people here with similar interests, sorta thing.
And, um, stuff..

Each to their own,theres alot more to a person than there hobbys,geeky or otherwise. My opinion is diffrent strokes for diffrent folkes,live and let live. We like sci-fi and are hopeing/planning on going to the gathering this year but i dont think this makes us geeky,just as i'm bi,enjoy sensual sub/dom play and pushing my sexual boundarys...i dont think this makes me kinky. Just a few diffrent facets of the multi dimensions that are me. I refuse to fit in to a box and resist anyone trying to put me in one

I run a Judge Dredd game and a Warhammer one. It is a ton of fun and we need more people around the table. Sundays are spent beating the shit out of various imaginary foes, using 20 sided dice as weapons :>
For the last... um.. year and a half, we have been playing through a very complex Warhammer role-playing game which is nearing it's climax. Right now, my friends have to beat the living crap out of a bunch of religious zealots in order to bring stability back to the Empire. And they have to do this through talking and playing out the situation in real time. For non-players, this sounds really lame. You have to be there...
We also have a ton of games involving hoards of orks eating people.

I would list my favourite nerdy passtimes and hobbies but I save those stories for those people who I think can handle the truth!
Although Mrs Kiss has been known to say on more than one occassion "Being with you is like living with a bloody science teacher!!"
