Heres the link to the cat scarer
Orange peel pah, welcome to the 21st century
Chris

Thankyou! I haven't got a cat cos I fuckin hate em. Sorry before all the cat lovers jump on me.
Marya, don't think any cat owner here is saying you haven't got a valid point. It's your garden and you have the right not to have it filled with ct shit. But, cats are untrainable, though you can give then an option, such as a litter tray, but it doesn't mean they will always use it.
Hope something works, jsut don't drop kick the fluffy little things.... mine came home with a leg broken in 3 places, after being missing for a day, thought to be from a kick... they are quiet fragile little things....

I left a little present on their doorstep - a carrier bag full of their cat's crap.

I beat you Marya - I tipped the cat shit out of the bag on to THEIR garden (scattered it actually), pissed them off no end because their kids had to tread carefully until their mum picked it all up. See your point about the disease etc. but it was their cat shit and my kids were on my garden too.
Having a small child running around for a while is probably a very good way of keeping cats out of your garden !
this is why my cat stays indoors. He can look out at the lovely garden from one of our many windows, but he can't crap in it, or anyone elses'.
I bought him, I take care of him, I (wel... ..) clean up his poo. It's only fair.
Bit late if the cat's already been there...
As a former slave to 2 young kids, I can definitely say cat-muck is definitely high on the list of things you DO NOT want them playing with - lots of very nasty diseases there sad
oooh, too many definitelys in that sentence...slap wrist from the grammar police

I wish. One of the little blighters jumped up and scratched her quite badly. Now she's scared of cats.
Right, I'm off to piss on me own garden, avoiding the citronella candles and electric fencing of course!
No one else have any queries?
bite the bullet and get a large tom cat from a cat shelter then see the other cats shy away from his territory. he in return will shat in other gardens as he expands his domain. A friend tried this but got a female of course the shat doubled as all the local male came in and left their scent to declare she belonged to them. I have a very large garden and a very large tom cat to match and hardly ever have shat to deal with. Oh and I don't like cats but needs must

Or hang CDs from the branches or leave them on the soil. .

This is of course also a tried and tested (by me at least) way of stopping the bloody birds messing with my apple and cherry trees. Do it now and it's just in time to save the blossom.... Just glue them front-to-front, drill a little hole and hang using fishing line..... They make nice patterns near sunset as well. Next door's baby can't stop watching them! biggrin

confused :? :? :? :?
I didn't want to start a new thread so apologies for resurrecting this one but i got a problem ....
When I tried to sign into msn today it said it needed updating to a new version - I was on the Beta 7 one.
So I go for the download the new version thing, after unintsalling the one I've got and it tells me I haven't got Internet Explorer. Well, I have cos I've used it and it's on my desktop but I go for Install IE anyway and it says it can't be done. Can't remember the exact message but I'll have another go tomorrow.
So now what? I've tried to install an older version (6.2) but I hit the same problem What's the problem anyway??
Techie help PLEASE!!!!!!!
Marya I think the problem is with MSN itself. I've had probs with mine for almost a week now - keeps bombing me off in mid conversation. Then tells me I've not got the latest version when I have and so on. Tried downloading it again and it was ok for a few hours then off again mad rolleyes
At least four of my contacts have also had probs this week so hopefully MSN will get it sorted soon as it is plainly a problem at their end evil

I'm sick to death of cats crapping in my garden. I've used pepper and that blue crystal gel stuff but they're not much cop cos they just wash away in the rain. At the moment, my garden is littered with orange peel cos I was told cats hate citrus smells but its really not practical to continue with that method.
I was wondering ... are there any particular plants that cats hate and I put round the borders to keep the fluffy mobile shit machines out of my garden???

go to your local garden center and get Lion Dung, and put it into your garden, the smell scares them away as the think there are big bloody cats around
Thanks for the msn advice, I'll hang on for a bit and see if they sort their stupid messenger out!
(ummm .... lou???? oddball bless ya).
The cats with the marble eyes don't work. I have solved the poo problem temporarily I think by borrowing someone's dog and letting it piss in every corner! Of course, now I have to tell the little un to keep away from there but got to be better than catpoo eh?

What is it? I don't want to look daft asking for something in a kind of "bucket of steam" kinda thing .. you know????

Or another method, which will require doing only once or twice before the cats get the message - get a child's water pistol and fire water at the cat every time it come into your garden. Those large *Super Soaker* guns are ideal.

Exactly what I suggested for my next door neighbour as soon as I moved in -'cos my cat is deaf and I know he is a pain. Not in the crap department but he hates other cats so will chase them. I asked her to give him a good soaking when we first moved in, to deter him. She thought this cruel and wouldn't. A year later I have to keep him closed inside and we don't talk (the neighbour and I) because of him. I do wish she had taken my advice. It would've made life a lot easier for both of us. The neighbour the other side did take my advice and I din't get cross when he came back soaking wet. He hardly went in that garden after a couple of soaks.
Male pee in a trigger bottle is effective too. Kinda works along the lines of scenting. Little cat thinks that's one helluva big cat and wont come back!
