I bet this topic has been posted before but we haven't seen it....... SH is one of the few sites we belong to that doesn't have facility to validated other members. Is this something that members would want?
It's not fail safe but a member with 2 or 3 validations from members who themselves have validations goes along way to suggest that do at least exist doesn't it?
J&A
PS To the boss - Could this be looked at?
It's been looked at, it's been discussed at length and it is NOT going to happen.
Mal
Turn 'em over and check for the Assay Office Hallmark dunno
Fair enough Mal - but a bit of a shame ..... Suppose there are good reasons

honestly it was suggested a while back.... and if you have a spare 4 hrs, i can point you in the direction of "pandora's box" if you really want to.....bolt
honestly.... 51 pages of arguement isn't something to be sniffed at.........
if you really want to see it i can pm you the link for it.......but please don't say you were not warned......
to save you the effort of 51 pages - the 'V' word is not 'open to discussion' or likely to happen, ever, because its too open to abuse....
one quick example : you arrange to meet a couple/ single/ whatever....and they turn out to not be your cup of tea for whatever reason...... you call the meet off....they 'V' you as a timewaster...... bye bye credibility wave - and my personal feeling on this is that there are far too many people here (on the site as a whole) who just dont 'get it' - and i certainly dont want one of them 'rating' me/ you/ anyone else wink Hope that helps
I know that there is one site that uses the "V" for just confirming that people are who they say they are... So if you met someone at a social then you could just click a button to say that that person/people are actually who they claim to be.... There is no option to label them a timewaster nor add comments...
It was useful in one respect whereby you knew that they were a couple for instance, or that the pictures on their profile was a good representation of them, but...... Then you have the downside whereby people didn't want to know people that were not "V'd"....
Unfortunately I think it will always come down to gut instinct, and thats how we work these days smile
To save ourselves the swings, roundabouts and pain I am now locking this thread.
