Get it off my chest

Hi,rant time.....
A few months ago we got chatting to a couple on the chatroom then on msn,we liked them so we arranged to meet.
Unfortunately we were let down by our babysitter and couldnt meet them,which was a good thing as it turned out our daughter was really quite ill that weekend.
We thought they would understand as they have young children themselves.
Then we realised that they had blocked us from their msn list,so we thought nothing more of it until i was on the chatroom recently.
They were on there asking for genuine couples,i said hi to them,asked them how they were and they completely ignored me!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:
Whats annoying me is that they obviously think we messed them around which if that is the case then i wish they'd just say so,so we could at least defend ourselves.
Just really annoys me that people have to act this way and can't have a little common courtesy mad

Maybe they DID think you were messing them about - it happens all the time. Rather than rant about them why not try again to contact them to explain, or just move on and think it's part of this life and try to arrange another meet with another couple.
If they are bad-mouthing you to others THEN you need to step in and ask for the chatroom Ops help. Otherwise, put it down to experience.

We did send them an email but never heard any more from them.
But yes good advice and we have met another couple since so we have moved on just needed a rant,but i will keep my eye out as far as bad mouthing goes!

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago.
I'd made arrangements to meet this couple in Middlesborough, 20 mins before I was going to leave I got an urgent phone call from a friend of mine, a lorry had hit the front of their house & was wedged in the living room. As I'm a builder they called me out to assess the situation & try to help the recovery services. Due to the severity of the situation it turns out I had to stay on site all night, also because it was unusual the news people sent a camera crew out & I was one of the ones interviewed about the severity of the accident. So I had proof that It was a genuine emergency, but when I contacted the couple the next day I got totally ignored & have never been able to get in touch to explain what happened. Now I know as a single bloke I'm in the category of,well we usually mess people about but there are times it is genuine,so all I would say is please give people one chance to explain.

Why do you need to rant if you *have* moved on? Sounds as if it still rattles your cage, so you don't appear to have moved on completely.
Forget it altogether. There will be loads of other genuine couples and you'll soon find some of them smile

Re life in general yes it is difficult isn't it , we live in hope of Council Tax going down the trains running on time and a babysitter that doesnt charge a fortune to spend all eveninbg snogging on your couch with her boyfreind while finishing the Ouzo that you were keeping to remind you of that holiday in Greece actually turning up , perhaps even at the appointed hour .
