Hallooween hummmm dunno :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: .
Has the world gone mad or just me .
I carnt understand people who think this is worth celabrating .
when i was a lass we didnt have it ..
In the last 5 years its gone mental shops are full off the crap and kids today expect it .
I understand what its about im not thick
but why
its been brought over here by the yanks .  .
Does anybody else think the same
I'm with you Debz, even though when I first saw the thread title i thought it said
Ghosts and Glues
need to clean me glasses or somefink rolleyes
I agree a stupid waste of time. Like others, I've just not answered the door to the begging little bleeders.
To make matters worse, Mrs HC dashed out at tea time in a black cape and hasnt been seen since.
Yes im not alone Him'nHer tx lol .
anyone else want a rant mad
i was in america about 7 years ago .....found myself in key west on haloween......
the whole place went mad.........its now becoming much the same over here.......multi million pound industry.....
when i was in USA talked to some locals......
i asked them if they knew where hallows eve came from???
its dated from middle ages when the autumn assizes were held at lancaster.......
theyd never heard of any of it and like most here just see it as go and get free things from total strangers..........
i never got involved in it and wouldnt advise any 1 else too.....the dangers of kids knocking on strange doors is inherant.......
well there's money involved so it'll get exploited
had great fun tonight with the kiddies celebrating all things spooky,, with a load of chocs thrown in the cauldron for good measure, lots of smiling faces in a village where evryone was happy to join in , as we watched my youngest and sons go round the houses we dished out sweets to the other kids that passed our car, loads of smiles ,
Ban fireworks not the little witches and warlocks !!!!
Oh ban the fireworks in unsafe hands yes i agree .
and halloween is fun but its not really a thing that should be celabrated .
honestly .
well I brought loads of sweets and cakes and only 4 turned up. I wonder if they'll keep untill next year. biggrin
I hate Halloween !!! my daughters brought in bags and bags of chocolate sad
which I will now be tempted to eat !!! Never gonna loose my curves banghead
Need to have some more sexercise now wink
I've done the whole Trick or Treat thing here tonight - in costume lol , daughter all excited cos other kids coming round, we've had baskets of sweets and apple bobbing in the front garden ......... had quite a few older ones too who looked at me in disgust for giving treats instead of money rolleyes with a bit of luck they'll get the hint and not bother coming on Bonfire Night! :evil2:
usually we have a sign on the door that says 'No Trick or Treaters cos my Mum's a real witch' :giggle: but I gave into her demands this year, its cost me a fortune in pumpkins and sweets to ply em all with sugar overloads, but its been fun ! :silly:
However, the whole trick or treat thing worries me - we've had children around 5 and 6 turn up unaccompanied tonight...wandering around the estate in the dark, freezing in daft flimsy costumes, knocking on complete strangers doors.....well, you know where I'm going with this .... - yes its been fun, but I wont be encouraging it next year.
Im with you on that Darkfire...............kids wandering the street at 7pm and even later is a very worrying thought, as there is a few nutters out there!!!
I have had a few lone children round tonight trick and treating, and some of them are no more than tots!!
and thats exaclty why we followed our children in the car tonight, they never left our sight, as could be said of most of the children the parents accompanied them , some dressed up to, its not the occasion that is a problem but the same children you saw wondering the streets alone this evening will be out there again tomorrow but this time the streets will be quieter and the adults that were there tonight keeping an eye open wont be.

Your a bloody tight arse :kissmyarse: , they`ve got no change at your house bolt
Hallowe'en is an ancient and British tradition that the yanks have kept going more than we have because they were more scared of witches than we were. Salem & all that jazz.
But, yes, it has become much more commercialised and Americanised. Just like Xmas, which I now hate. BTW, it's called 'guising' up here (don't know about in Englandshire) and just try making one of them do a party piece to get their treat nowadays.
Oh, I was approached yesterday by a junior ned (what is the proper noun for that? A nedlet?) who asked for a Penny for the Guy. Didn't even have a Guy. When I asked him where it was he asked what it was! evil
I hate kids. Makes me wonder why I'm trying to make one.... wink

Well we know one or two recipes you can use them in ,if you have any spare children;.............
eye of newt , rabbits ears , one small child, 1lb of self raising flour and a pinch of salt
