I was just having a tidy-up and in the process move my knitting - yes you heard me correctly - I said knitting.
As I did, I remembered a comment made to me a while back. I was chatting to a person I know on cam and they noticed the knitting in the background... "I never thought you would be into knitting" they chuckled. "I am not!" I replied and explained a very dear friend of mine had noticed some wool in a department store one day and commented how gorgeous it was. Sometime later in a shop window I spotted the same wool and I bought some of it with the aim of making a scarf as a gift for my friend. Now this was around April time when I started and I really fucking hate knitting - but I have until October to finish making the scarf. It may end up being the most crappy scarf on this planet - but it will mean something.
I have no idea why I am telling you this - but feel free to make any comments as you wish.
I agree! Gifts that are turly personal, thoughful or even home made are the BEST! No matter how much or little they cost.
As an anniversary present for my gf I got hold of the backing track to a song she loved then spent quite a bit of time recording my vocals.
I can't sing very well at all so it way more amusing than romantic, but she loved it!

My best gift ever was Max my labrador puppy bought by my sisters and niece just 3 weeks ago.
Had my last dog put to sleep in January and they knew i allways wanted a lab.
My sister visits evrey Friday and we normaly have fish n chips but on the Friday 3 weeks ago we didn't have any and suddenly my niece turned up to take my sister somewhere, when we asked where you going she just said somewhere. Then Just as i was about to lock up the front door at about 10:30 i saw a shadow through the door and noticed they had come back so i opened the door and in my sisteres arms was Max
By time they got in the house i was in tears.
My bestest pressie...or the one that springs to mind immediately in convo's like this is an egg that breaks in half, one of the halves with a baby dragon/firelizard in it. The edges are serated just like it has been cracked open and Stormy painted it it for me. It's a little bigger than a thumbnail and is sooooo lovely and so was the thought.

My Dad passed away earlier this year. It was to be he and my Mums Golden Wedding Anniversary this year.
As a surprise my Mum made me a copy of their wedding photo, framed - it was absolutely beautiful.
Sadly Mum died suddenly very soon after, this was only a couple of weeks ago.
That photo is now my most treasured possession.
Gifts that mean something.
The wonderful bouquet of flowers someone brought me last year off this site, 2 days (I think) just before I went on holiday, (my neighbour had them when I went away)
The gift was a thankyou for something I had done for him and the thought from him will always be treasured.
