I've got access to 2 (other housemates) digi-cams that both have DV firewire outputs, I also have a firewire card and no probs capturing video and so on from them; and had a go one time setting them up as webcams; kind of was working but the damn camcorders power off after a while on power-saving as they aren't recording the footage to tape and I can't get either of them to stay on and in record mode, pumping out footage. Would be pretty good quality too - in fact to get them so they will fit down your internet connection (being limited bandwidth) needs a fair bit of reduction in the output window size.
How do I do this / get it working in general?
I tried reading up on the manuals or other web resources and asking people but I can't get them to stay on longer than a couple of minutes until they decide they've had enough of (they think) not being used. I don't own any tapes of my own and the proper solution isn't really just to buy some 'dummy' tapes just to record/rerecord over.
Sorry, getting techy here but just wondered if anyone knew.

oh yes it happens to me all of a sudden you remember tummy tingles right down to your never regions and whooooooosssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in need of clean knickers, I now carry spare knickers in my bag, just incase and feel like the martini girl as this can happen anytime, any place anywhere, thank god for MEN!!!!!!!!!!!! eh girls xx
