My heart goes out to all the victims of the floods everywhere..
Always piss** me off though when anything happens like how the divides of this country shows its ugly head.. When the north got flooded it was more a case of Oh hum poor sods.. Now the Thames valley is at risk holy cow.. its a major major event with bags of cash being thrown at it.. Must pay more taxes or something?
Anyone who is affected should at the very least expect help in anyway possible and not just to house and feed but to help them back to normal as soon as possible..
Good luck and best wishes to anyone from ANYwhere who is affected xxxx
Mike xx

Hi Mick and Mich and welcome to the Forums :welcome:
Anything that turns someone's world upside down, particularly a natural disaster/happening in my view, is so sad to see. It's difficult to really understand the depth of the despair for these people and their families unless you have experienced a similar upheaval. Their lives are completely on hold while they are at the peril of the weather.
However I did find it odd when a guy being interviewed on the TV (when refusing to leave his flooded house) said he wouldn't leave his house as he had a 6 month old daughter and was worried he'd fall over in the water and drop her. Sorry I find this hard to sympathise with, we'd never carry our children down the stairs if we were worried about dropping them. He had the offer of being escorted to safety. There's nowt so queer as folk.

We have no water, please send wine!
Well i was feeling sorry for myself last friday night when i drove thru a flood. I was on the way to meet a lady i had met on this site and drove thru a flooded road that was deeper than it looked. The result of this was the water was sucked into my engine and the car is now a write off. The lady i was meeting was great. She picked me up and took me back to hers and soon got me out of my wet clothes and we made the best of a bad situation.(if you read this you know who you are. Thanx x)The things i do to get my leg over!
Like i say, i was feeling sorry for myself untill i saw the news and how much worse off a lot of people were. I only lost my have lost a lot more.
So, to anyone caught up in the floods i wish them all the best and hope everything works out for you all.
