hi,
next week im finally going to book a holiday (have'nt had a holiday for 8 years so well over due me thinks). The problem is i've never been abroad and hubbys only been once before so have no idea where to book! I've been to a few travel agents but come away more confused than when i started. So i would really be grateful on any suggestions or any good places to look at. Otherwise it's next summer in the back garden AGAIN!!

That's the best part besides the holiday itself! I love trawling around the holiday shops and coming home with a barrow full of brochures biggrin
First decide if you want a summer or winter hoilday and what type. ie cruise/all inclusive/beach/city etc then just grab all the info you can! As you're going through them together, you'll get to eliminate the ones you don't fancy and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll agree on some.
If it's somewhere you've never been before, ask around for advice from people who have or maybe post on here. There's nothing better than personal recommendations though no point asking advice from travel agents ( unless you get a really honest one, yeah right rolleyes )
You lucky buggers ! Hope you find somewhere really fab!
My recommendation? If you have the money or a special anniversary/birthday you want to celebrate in style, try a cruise around the Caribbean. That type of holiday never appealed to me until I did it and it was the best ever ! Can give you more info if you want wink
Hi wxmcpl
A lot depends on what you want out of your holiday !
Do you want a relaxing time or a lively time ?
Do you like the sun ?
Do you like the beach ?
How much do you want to spend ?
I think people will be able to give you more advice with a bit more detail
Can I suggest if you have a reasonable amount to spend and are not frightened of
water, try a can have a relaxing time or find plenty to do both onboard or
ashore, get up when you want and generally do what you want when you want
If you want any more details about cruising, please don't hesitate to ask
Hope this helps

thanks for your replies to be honest i have'nt got a clue what to look for. i know im definatly not a lie in one place all day kinda person so definatly want things to do and hubby just wants plenty of pubs ( nothing new there rolleyes ). He's left it too me and just told me when to book time off. i dont want nothing too expensive as we've only got one wage coming in while im in college and its definatly self catering.
Did'nt realise it would be so flippin hard but we've got no kids coming with us so i'm not giving up lol.

Oi you!!!!!!!!!!
Give us an idea when- next summer, but can you go in June? Weather can be fantastic, and its sooo much cheaper & quieter if you're not taking kids!
Like me, you couldn't sit on a beach all day- but what do you want to do?
Do you like it really hot, or not so hot?
Flying or driving?
ooooh how I would love a kid free holiday right now confused
I came back from Malta on Saturday after two weeks

If I'd known that we could have had fun!!!!
Back on topic though - Malta was fantastic, yeah the pubs arn't great, but they are quite cheap. Food is expensive though!!!
Lots to see and do, it was a really easy holiday.
oooohhh get you!!!!
mine was a last minute thing, just bed and breakfast!!!
I was on my own, and a 2 course meal was about £12. which isn't that expensive, because the quality was cracking!!!
I'd have prised you out of the health spa - or joined you - I'm easy!!!
