And rather him than the whinging Spaniard...

bizarre if you ask me never heard of a gearbox with different settings on it.

Thats assuming that what James Allen said is to be believed ;-)
ca'nt remember what he said now it was gone 3am when i watched it. lol
Yes I was puzzled by this too!
However as I understand it I think he was suggesting that they have a series of pre-programmed gear ratios, and that it's possible to switch between them when necessary. Maybe they thought there was a glitch in the software that only affected one particular setting.
Anyway as it turns out it seems they ended up re-booting the system and whatever it was cleared.
confused: :?: :?:
In order to have more than 1 set of gear ratios they would need more than 1 set of gears so I cant see that being the reason...
What I think the problem was was a software problem with regards to the actual shift mechanism as it is all computer activated (via hydraulics) and as already said a system reboot cleared the problem(as it sometimes does with a home pc)
Thanks dude that makes more sense.
As you've probably guessed, I know bugger all about cars.

Kimi is alright in my book, so I'm really pleased he won. He deserved it, and unlike the "… whinging Spaniard …" didn't complain once. Instead he just knuckled down and worked hard to get the result.
I still think the "… whinging Spaniard …" should get a good kicking. Anyone willing to join the queque?

Next year he would be sweeping the pit garage for me...
As he is contracted it would be mighty expensive to get rid of him but theres nothing to say because he is employed by Mclaren he has to drive for them ;-)

One of the 'red top' newspapers has a leader on its front page that suggests McLaren are looking at ways to cancel Alonso's contract withoiut having to pay him anything.
The suggestion is that McLaren believe they can get Alonso on breach of contract, and certain specific terms of his contract. His behaviour has been so bad and his attempt at blackmailing the team is probably the final straw.
The ITV F1 site has comments from fans who all agree that Kimi deserved the win. There was fairly unanimous disappoint that it wasn't Lewis, but hardly anyone had a kind word for Alonso.
Even after everything thats happened this is what Alonso had to say;
Alonso says the team has only itself to blame for losing the championship and reiterated his belief that his own bid didn’t receive enough support.
“It doesn't seem like the season has been managed very well," he said.
"The result speaks for itself.
“McLaren lost the championship probably because of some of the decisions they took, especially in the second half of the season.
“It's no secret that they haven't helped me a lot,” he added.

Tosser!
Well if that isnt commiting contractual suicide I dont know what is...
There isnt a job at Ferrari for him...
There may be a job at Williams depending on how much pressure Toyota put on Sir Frank to have a Japanese driver...
There may even be a job at Toyota seeing how Ralph is leaving but I reckon the best place for Alonso is Spyker....
They need a tea boy....

Flavio said he might have him back, but if I was a team principal I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.
… unless it was to beat him over the head with it.

Its a common belief that Fernando is actually Flavio's lovechild...
As Jean Todt is King Bernies...
I am gutted for Lewis but I am sure it will be his turn next year.I see Mclaren have appealed against the decision not to penalise the other drivers but Lewis has said that he doesn't want to win the title like this. What a sportsman smile
In recent years I had become quite bored with F1 but this year has been quite exciting biggrin Personally I think Alonso will be driving for McLaren next year...... Driving the V.I.P's around :giggle:
