lynard skynard - live version of freebird at knebworth
You must have been there with your parents Brucie?

unfortunately not. i remember my sister went. its up on you tube. looks amazing. anyway thought it was the stones headlining as the stage is the stones mouth /tongue.
Stones were headlining but 10cc were on between them and Skynyrd. They were very good too, finished with a rocking version of Rubber Bullets. Ah, ain't nostalgia a wonderful thing!
Skynyrd ruled the stage that day. 10CC were good but a bloody pain as it was the last performance of the original four members of the band and they wanted to record it.. spent ages trying to sort the recording equipment out. They gave up after about 2 hours flapping around. It was a shame as they were excellent. Rolling Stones came on well after midnight by which time most people around us were either 2 stoned (no pun intended) or too pissed and fast asleep to see them perform.. The good old days
As for greatest solo.... hm... Eric Clapton playing with George Harrison on "while my guitar gently weeps" especially the live concert recordings... Mind you Peter Frampton does a cracking version too...
