Stuff St George - absolutely nothing to do with England - never even set foot in the place. An import from Turkey via William the Bastard (as he was known in his home-land) and his Norman invaders.
Yay for St Edumnd - the true English saint - martyred for his beliefs - in ENGLAND.

Easter or St Georges day, they are all just symbols same as Christmas. If you are Christian you worship at Easter due to your faith and if you a patriotic English person you celebrate on St Georges day simply for that reason. The dates and actual historical accuracy are unimportant. In a world cup I'll fly a flag with a St George cross on it but doesn't mean I think St George was a English dude who slew a Dragon its just a symbol of my patriotic view.
