I am in agreement with the most.
I like the way the topics work on this forum. Its a free flow of convos, ideas, jokes, laughs, news, meets etc
I have have been a member of a number of forums that are heavily regulated. In those it is just so straight and regimented. You follow the line or you are out etc.
Like has been said by many person a before swinging is not just sex, it is a lifestyle. This forum and the way it flows off in different ways shows this.
if you have a convo at a bus stop with someone how often do you stay on topic all of the time?
I tend to think that for the most part, the forum follows the same structure as a normal conversation, in that it can deviate and wander as it will. It’s only when the conversation becomes a debate that people try to keep things on track and more structured. Of course if you start something and it wanders away from what you hoped it would be, you can always get it back on track with a timely post or two. How hard is it to skip the posts you don’t like, and concentrate on the ones you do.
well I DONT agree
actually i do but just wanted to see what it sounded like if I didnt :P
the only thing I dont agree on is that marmite is nice
wrong, wrong WRONG!!!
I think shes been fab and really entertaining, and shown different sides to her apart from the one you saw on her tv series or americas top model.
JD for president. :thrilled:
I think most of the time this forum runs pretty well and whilst there are sometimes hi-jacks in certain threads, normally people keep it to the more light hearted threads and leave the more serious threads are left to run hi-jack free.
Most of the time hi-jacks are amusing and add to the friendly feeling in the cafe. The only time I don't like it is when you see the same people following each other around and posting drivel pretty much anywhere they can find. Then it is quite frustrating to have to read through pages of the same posters in different threads, who aren't actually adding anything. But to be fair it's rare for that to happen and most of the time it happens when there is a big event on and the forums are quiet so I guess it does serve some form of purpose.
i think the forums are well run and the hijacking is good tis them bits that seem to make me smile,
having said that, im taking a back seater at the min, more watching that anything else
How should a thread run? I am responding after giving this thread some few hours of thought. I think I understand the original question. In that does one have any expectation for a thread to follow an imagined or generally accepted procedure/format etc?
Well I suppose some lines of thought do follow either logical, intelligent or emotional qualities; and therefore could run a predictable course. Some threads do follow a fairly repeatable format such as the pissed of newbie who hasn't had a shag.
But they only exist because those who have hung about know what they can and want to put into such similar threads. Which we all do, using each thread as an opportunity to refine and condense our thoughts.
So I think they just run as they always will, give or take a few alterations and refinements.
Layering quotes is just an exchange between competent and experienced posters. I find it tedious to get through, but its the only show in town sometimes.
Well thankyou Blonde, but that could be either a highjack or a sidetrack.
All the same very flattering and you are welcome.
Cheers.
But I won't quote it............
