It's usually quantified by the "just my opinion" line of excuse as well!

We live in England not Russia. In the real world if people do not like peoples views or opinions, in whatever form that may be in, then why do those same people want to express their own opinions and freedom of speech?

Oh, I so don't like all of this at al no i don't. It is all verging on very silly. Unfortunatly the Clever clever i am i am stuff sits heavy on my stomach. Too often is a good point over stated in a patronising, self righteous way.

Because ego gets in the way, because some people get something out of pushing buttons and deliberately setting out to wind people up, whether singularly or individually, because some people take the bait too easily.
I have been guilty of one or some of the above, and seeing how things have turned in recent months, I can only aologise to anyone I have offended/annoyed/upset/irritated/given reason to absolutely adore me.

I agree wholeheartedly that none of these rights should be eroded.
These radio and TV chappys have to be kept on a leash otherwise they get more chance to air their views than the rest of us, balance and all that.
Most internet forums rely on moderation to ensure that threads are not hijacked nor topics dragged off topic nor spammed by folk who have an axe to grind. Without such moderation threads do turn into rubbish that only the contributors want to read. I find that particularly tiresome.
Balance seems to be the key word.

Believe it or not but I have had over 40 mails from people asking me not to stop posting. What is really funny is there are 15 from people who I have never seen post a thing.
So whilst I agree there are some that get the arse, a lot of others dont....Can't please all of the people, all of the time.
If people can find forums where there are not heated discussions, then maybe that is the way to go for some?

I'm not aware of anyone being asked to stop posting, I haven't bothered looking at many of the threads lately and this one is one of the reasons why, but I have to add, it's the same 'very intelligent' people arguing all the time, it's long since past the stage of just heated discussions, it's now about scoring points against each other.
Everyone loves heated debates and discussions, but this is now beyond ridiculous.
